I’m sure it’s been discussed here, but it’s just amazing to me, even by Mike Woodson coaching standards, that he went back to the two-big lineup with the game on the line in the second half and they proceeded to give up the game-clinching run.

And those standings are from December. They’ve now lost 15 in a row and are 2-18.

If we decided to move a conference game to Indianapolis, I think they would consider that a home game for us. But I’m not 100% sure about that. Might be a case-by-case determination.

It’s a road win

At best, we’ll get in as a 10 or 11 seed and get our doors blown off by somebody like Georgia in our first game. I doubt that would be seen as success.

Where did you hear the AD didn't have control to fire him last year? From the insiders here? The same ones that have said he WILL have control this year?

I thought the same thing. And the fact that he can prepare and coach harder when he thinks his job is on the line pisses me off more than if he was completely incompetent and incapable.

Gene Keady is highly underrated in this area. Paved the way for several Purdue centers with questionable talent to be effective by plowing people out of their way because “they established that’s the way they play.”

For me (and I am old enough to remember them all as players here), the difference is that Wittman and Zeke weren’t bad coaches here at IU. I do think Woodson has tarnished his overall IU legacy a bit, and that’s why I think talking him into a resignation before things get worse can only help him.

To the extent Dolson is worried about outside people (he shouldn’t worry about that at all), I’d point them to the fact that most of those outside people predicted that we’d finish 2nd in the B1G, and a few picked us as a sleeper for the Final 4. And I’d also remind them that Woodson stated when he took the job he was here to win B1G and national championships.

Beard and Pat Knight are very well acquainted. Beard was an assistant at Texas Tech when Bob and Pat were there.

Yeah, Peegs was a treat. Met him a few times at AAU events. Shared 100% valid info with him a few times and he’d do one of two things: tell me I was wrong (I wasn’t) or use it and give no credit as to where he got it.

Agree. He’s not skipping radio shows, pre-game press conferences, and post-game interviews because he still thinks he is the king.

If negotiations got to the point that Stevens got on a plane to meet with IU officials and a contract was produced for him to sign, you’d have to think Stevens was really interested, no? I mean, the alternative, even according to your what your own sources say happened, was that Stevens had nothing better to do during the home stretch of Boston’s regular season than negotiate with Indiana just to lead them on.

In short, she is an expert in how to make decisions that yield good results while at the same time purportedly working in a department that has consistently made decisions that yield poor results.
