Go to the Liam decommitting thread if you haven't seen lol
-
Talk about making it more complicated than it has to be.
-
Mike got his feelings hurt so now it's everybody else's problem.
-
This is Cathy's logic: It was Glass's fault for not interviewing Mike Woodson. (IMO as a courtesy he should've been given an interview even as a probably unqualified candidate) It's Dolson's fault for hiring Woodson. And now it's Dolson's fault for not firing him because the culture won't allow him to, even though it actively encouraged him to hire Woody.
-
At this point, who cares if Dolson F'd up with the Woodson hire (he clearly did). WHY IS HE NOT BEING ALLOWED TO FIX IT? Lol. Can't save those who don't want to be saved.
-
JFC I'm in my 30s and it doesn't sound like I'll see an IUBB title in my lifetime.
-
Hey guys did you hear? Mike Woodson was really good in 1980 so that means in 2025 he gets to be HC. His boy Quinn is Chair and has the big money hook ups to overpay for a bunch of mediocre mid-major guys so he can not make the NCAAT and be the first program to miss the conference tournament next year. Everyone else is happy to clap along because he's one of Bobby's boys. Scott tried speaking up but got put in timeout. But when the inevitable train wreck happens, this is all we'll hear... again... "Mike Woodson didn't miss those shots. They're not used to each other, I'm still learning these guys. But it's a lot of season left. If there's one thing Mike Woodson's gonna do, it's get this team over the hump."
-
What was the example somebody shared here recently about how they handled it at Purdue? My God... it's just so sad... and pathetic...
-
Thank you for helping me understand how deeply unserious the leadership at Indiana University apparently is. Genuinely.
-
Right. I've yet to hear a good explanation for why Dolson would be allowed to correct his Tom Allen mistake without interference but is facing immense pushback when trying to do that for the basketball coach position. Hmmmmmm................
-
So why would he be allowed to correct his Tom Allen mistake but not Mike Woodson? Doesn't seem to be a good answer aside from BS internal politics (not placing blame solely on QB... I'm sure its the entire ecosystem)

Sponsored by Deshaun Watson.

I fully agree with the idea McNeeley decommitted when he did because he was hoping to get the automatic release. But the timing of announcing his decommitment, the very next day, would appear to be a statement. He could have waited til after the B10 tournament. Maybe he was bitter about them not maintaining the relationship once they got what they wanted from him? Or maybe if McNeeley already knew he wasn't feeling IU anyway, and his coach (or someone at MVA) was aware of a player already at IU who would maybe like to stay there under different circumstances... and found the timing quite opportune. Who knows. Edit: to blindside the staff an hour before the story breaks ... I mean... you could say the staff was caught with their pants down

Lots of places you can go to for an IRL happy ending

This will be a somewhat hot take and normally not something I would agree with, but in this context I feel like it's not so serious. Something along the lines about that old adage of "letter of the law vs. spirit of the law" Sure, we've had touch points with him along the way since he signed. That is documented fact. Apparently, these touch points rarely if ever included Woodson and were few and far enough between that we p!ssed away the one recruit we actually landed this cycle. Particularly during this ambiguous time where the narrative / court of public opinion is still being formed, I'm not inclined to nit pick the hyperbole. In effect, it's the same thing (just a hot take, only as it relates to this particular topic).

Here is some fodder for the news/rumors/speculation that @realTomCrean asked for. Troll account seems likely IMO but... eat your heart out conspiracy lovers (sorry @Stuhoo)
-
I'm officially off that bus. Doesn't seem like a very great or self aware guy at all, right now. He looked even less energetic and more worn down than usual in his media session today.
-
It's actually funny he doesn't get that Liam actually was down to play at SSAH in front of IU fans.... just not for him.
-
I mean, presumably when you say it's not an accident we are where we are and Dolson has something to do with that... (I don't deny that) Feels a bit like misplaced blame, no? This hire was made when Dolson was only 9 months in the job. At the urging of the chair of the board of trustees. Quinn and Scott could be best pals... if the senior person is pressuring you to hire their friend, I don't blame the hiring manager... I blame the senior person being opportunistic and exerting their power in an... uncouth manner. If we're going to assign blame, let's be frank. I suppose that's what you mean when you say the common thread being leadership above the coach? Woody's tenure though is not IMO Dolson's failure.
-
We have no reason not to. My only hope is that Dolson is aware. Or is made aware.
-
Liam de-committing the day after it's announced Woodson is coming back ... is loud Scott Dolson's name being absent from the Indy Star story ... is loud .... Let the recruits and rival coaches pile on. Compile the evidence. .... Equip "Ya Boy AD Scotty D" with the ammo he needs for "super Tuesday"

Shout out to @BannerVille on page 574 still climbing this horizon
-
I just watched his media session... oooooooffff
-
Just you wait. Come Monday morning this puppy is going to be 1000 pages and Brad Stevens will be GM, Bruce Pearl will be HC, Dusty will be HCIW and Mike Woodson will be Advisor Emeritus. Armond Hill will be entombed at Cook Hall after Dusty has won our 10th natty in a row with him on the bench.

As the fearless leader of this board's IUBB Q/StuAnon movement, I'll indulge your request. If the Athletic Department has made a decision, stands to reason the Athletic Department would have set up an auto-response confirming the Indy Star story published two days prior, which surely plenty of fans will be asking about/voicing their thoughts on?
