I tend to think we're going to see this train wreck through all the way to the bitter end. BUT... in the name of hoping he is gone ASAP, even though it doesn't really matter at this point... At MSU, home vs UCLA, Purdue, PSU. I think we have little chance of winning the next 3 games. If he loses to PSU at home, I could see them agreeing to letting him skip the west coast trip and senior day because of his knee acting up or something.

I don't think he's doing any real coaching the rest of the year (did he ever more than part time, really?) Just showing up when and where he has to so he gets paid at the end of all this. Whoof.

Yep, thoroughly disappointing. @ MSU, UCLA, PU, PSU, @ Wash, @ Oregon, OSU. Hard to see us doing much better than winning 3 in that stretch IMO. 4 would be a lot. If we lose to MSU and UCLA, it'll have been more than a calendar month since our last win. PU = L. Smh. We beat PSU in Philly so can definitely win that at home even if there's not your typical AH crowd willing them to victory. Are the players focused though? West coast trip is tough... Washington probably a push, Oregon could be too but probably L. OSU, maybe they view it as a pay back game and play with pride even though the season is washed at that point.

Video of Scheyer shoving some Clemson fan as they rushed the court… not sure if that’s already been discussed. Just find it interesting that’s not being talked about in the media very much, if at all, especially since they fixate on Hurley’s antics on the sidelines (which I don’t find unique to him). Not a great look for squeaky clean Duke IMO but rushing the court creates a difficult situation for the opposing team.

Good post, your last blurb is an angle that I haven’t seen explored here all that much. Don’t think anybody has disputed McCollum is a great ball coach. Their concerns are mainly with 1) lack of P4 experience and 2) style of play… you mention he’s shown the ability to adapt style of play to his roster. Big positive. And the lack of P4 experience, IMO, would not be such an issue in most cases but this cycle feels like an exception after the last 8 years we’ve gone through. The upside is tremendous… normally I’d be inclined to push for that. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere and work their way up. Someone has to be first to take a flyer at the P4 level and that goes for every coach. Just think that if they can help it, they should try to get a sure thing who has proven he can consistently win at this level. An old Bezos quote about if you have a 10% chance to get a 100x return, you should take it every time. I don’t think the chance is that low with McCollum, but you can and probably should try to find more of a sure thing based on the context of IU’s recent history and new advantage in NIL.
