I think the odds of that are astronomically lower than last cycle. Then again, we ended up with Woody. But IU has given fans very little reason to be optimistic about how the program is run. Think the landscape is more favorable for us this go round. Let's hope for the best.

Maybe it's just me not wanting to let the dream go yet (ha) but... Yes, I'm curious how this exchange went down - how did Goodman frame the question? Did Stevens say anything else or just that he enjoys being a Celtic? If it was via email I'd like him to post the exchange though I'm sure he won't. Goodman is goofy enough that I could see him misinterpreting the situation and running with it to try and be first. He is a clown. Taking it a step further for sh!tz and gigs, even though we all know it's over... If reporters were asking the IU AD/Stevens about a potential deal and for a comment, how would they probably respond? Probably along the lines of... IU AD: As a matter of policy, we do not comment on specific individuals as it pertains to our hiring process BS: I love being a Boston Celtic and am focused on the future of this team. BS actual quote from Goodman was that he "thoroughly appreciates being a Celtic and love the people I get to work with every day." Anywho... Dolson took a shot and missed. Fine, swing for the fences, you have to try. Plenty of time to find a legit CBB lifer candidate.

It was always going to be a long shot. I wonder if he even was able to leverage IU this time for anything from the Celtics. I don't fault any of the posters here for sharing what they were hearing. IU took their shot at the great white whale, exactly like they should have. Didn't bite, so time to move on. No harm no foul. The good news? We've gotten this out of the way by Feb. 14. Plenty of time to find serious candidates and come to a deal. Get a CBB lifer and a grinder. #MakeIUBBGreatAgain

This guy is getting everyone worked up into fits over a whole lot of nothing IMO, lol. How is an anonymous message board poster going to know the details of when Brad Stevens allegedly plans to sign a contract? I mean, really... you'd have to be extremely close to the situation to be that granular. Perhaps trolling, perhaps passing on speculation from someone else. The speculation is unsurprising given this is all coming from the IU side (supposedly) ... so from their perspective, things may be all on track ... for now. Last time, things fell off the rails around this part (allegedly). We will see if it happens again but speculating about the timing of when the deal will be signed/announced is, I think for the most part, a bunch of hot air. However... Chris's latest post about guarantees is intriguing. We shall see!

I am not convinced at all that poster has information - no offense Isaac - to me the screen name is a red flag and the posts read like fan fiction just riding the wave of other more "credible" posters. You can have your opinion and share it but this board is a lot more enjoyable without personas dedicated to being abrasive.

Meh... people always want more resources. Think it's fairly common in a late stage negotiation to ask to sweeten the pot in some way. You want as big of an advantage as you can get with NIL. Always ask for more. IMO, leverage for that commitment would be strongest at this point, probably. So doesn't raise an eyebrow for me. Just my .02

IMO, based on Trilly's comment yesterday where allegedly he said Dolson gave Stevens 2 weeks to decide, that's probably accurate. Smoke today could be good vibes, could be opportunistic trolling without sources piling on. The planes are interesting IMO. Glad to have the 2 week timeline on it so Dolson doesn't get caught with his richard in his hand like last time and can find another strong candidate if things go wrong. I don't think you have to announce anything before the season ends. Don't think a deal "leaking" forces their hand in the slightest.
