Very typical of IUFB unfortunately. Very rarely good in all areas. IUFB doesn't have to be a juggernaut in any one particular area, just have to be at least solid everywhere. I think where IUFB has missed the boat over the years is not building the team for playmakers but building around playmakers. It's difficult for any QB, WR, RB, CB to make plays if you don't have decent lineman and good special teams (field position). I think the CTA era is the epitome of this. They had a couple good OL lineman, but for the most part it was always the main issue on both sides.

Risk to his "I am a winner" mantra and any sort of idea of moving on to a "better" or lateral job.

Time will tell obviously. But normally guys like this don't lose much, that's why they are like this. Taking the IU job is a colossal risk and test for someone of this ilk. Not saying he's going to win championships, but I think we'll see something we haven't seen in a while if ever at IU. It makes for a much more engaged fanbase when you have a coach who's confidence (possibly arrogance) brings some attention to himself and the team. I just don't really see him hitting rock bottom like the coaches before inevitably sank to. Maybe I am just drinking the Cig Kool Aid, but he just seems different than any coach we've had in the past. He seems like the right type of guy for the current climate of CFB.

I think it's weird that some people don't like this type of attitude. It's exactly what IUFB needs. We've been the doormat in both B1G & CFB forever, like literally. It's time we got a coach who acts, talks, and thinks he's the best, and doesn't back down to anyone. To be the good, you have to believe you are good. He's got me believing. Can you imagine this guy's team going 3-24 in the conference? I can't.

Yeah, the blowback on these is a little harsh. You might not like the colors, but the passionate hatred is a bit extreme imho. Yeah, we get it, you don't like them.
