I tend to agree with this. The fans and the players are just kids and I don't want them to suffer through a terrible season. I have and always will be a fan of the school and team regardless of who's coaching and the circumstances. They played hard tonight and I think a lot people would agree that goes a long way.

He's been hurt an awful lot at IU. It's hard to be consistent if you can't play.

I agree with this. But it stinks that IUBB sucks again. We've had more down seasons the past 10 years than good and that's not any fun. The most fun I've had with both football and basketball outside of a few seasons here and there are the coaching rumors. Finally I think IUFB is in good hands. IUBB is a different monster and it's time to hire someone who knows how to win and handle the rigors of a big time program warts and all.

I think a better argument is that yes indeed they get a lot of support, so there's no reason not to do your school work these days. If I had a tutor helping me, my grades would sure as hell be much better than they were.

He hasn't really played enough to be consistent or inconsistent. I am not a fan whatsoever or ripping players (especially publicly) but he's been a bust. This team would be totally different and better, regardless of the counter arguments with him starting. But he's not, and hasn't for two seasons now. It's hard to contribute when you can't play.

This is spot on. The next coach has to really be able to handle all the trappings that come with the job, and I would guess that 90% of coaches couldn't/wouldn't succeed here. There is a lot of pressure to win here and as we've seen this season, you have a bad year, people are going to come after you. But with some sustain and real success, you can lessen that pressure when the occasional bad season happens. When you're trending down, it's tough to come back in this job. If true, then Dolson should quit.

Cupps shouldn't even be starting in reality. I love the kid, but he's not ready for prime time. He gets torched more often than not.

Really? This seems like a very lazy take to be honest.

Yet everyone keeps saying the athletic department is flush with cash, no? You can't have it both ways, saying he's doing a shi**y job, then pointing out "look how much money the athletic department has..." I think everyone is missing that college sports landscape has changed dramatically. We're going to see more ups and downs because rosters are going to flip constantly. That's why I think as fans we're really not going to have much fun if you are going to lose your mind every time a season goes to hell. Woody was not a long term hire. This season went to hell and it stinks He'll get one more year to turn it around and if he doesn't, like CTA he'll be gone.

The idiots doing that will do that regardless. I know everyone gets sensitive about critiquing what being a "fan" is or means, but those losers aren't doing anyone any good.

I think there's a difference in "not being a fan" versus going on social media and ripping a guy on your own team or hoping he gets kicked off etc. It's just a game when it's all said and done.

I think that should be the rule about players in general. Calling out players on social media is super LAME. Call out Woody all you want, leave the player rips to group texts or I guess the forums. It does ZERO for the program or the team calling our players constantly.

X has been through the ringer with injuries and I am sure all of the negativity etc. has been weighing on him and the other players feel it and feel for him. Walker felt that for him.

You can shine at QB anywhere, you just need a competent OC and OL. There's no reason why a top ranked QB can't do well at IU ie get drafted high.
