Love the sarcastic “SEC” chants. Can’t believe this is the matchup the committee sold their souls to get.

IUBB vs Penn State - 12/29/20 @ 8:30 on BTN
KzooHoosier82 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
To say this Penn St team isn’t at all good is pretty ill informed. They live and die by the 3 so they’ll have some bad losses but they’ve played much better than their record and beat a ranked Virginia Tech team by 20. -

I don’t understand most of the negative comments tonight. We played much better than the last two games. Penn St just happened to play really well and made a ton of tough shots. I think we did well enough to escape with a win and hopefully the confidence grows from here -
IUBB vs Northwestern - 12/23/20 @ 8:30 ET on BTN

Rob and Al could transfer at semester and I’d be perfectly fine with that -
Saying I’m fine if IU declined the bowl game is a long way from saying IU should or needs to decline the bowl game. If the kids want to play, by all means...get after it. Because trust me, sending an IU squad to a disrespectful bowl game they don’t want to play in (and without all the fun activities that usually go along with a bowl game) won’t be good for the brand

Fred Glass goes off on the CFB disrespect of IUFB
KzooHoosier82 replied to iubb's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
If he wants to put NW ahead of us even though there’s zero valid reason to do so on paper, fine...but don’t prop up Florida and conveniently leave IU out of the top 10. He is having the season he’s having because of Peyton Ramsey...who CTA supported in his decision to transfer there. It’s a busch league move by all accounts -

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/6548641002 In case anyone is curious as to which coaches around the country are adding to the blatant disrespect....Pat Fitzgerld and Mel Tucker need to be publically called out by CTA. November 13th 2021 better be a blood bath. Run it up...leave no doubt. Fitz can consider himself lucky not to be on the schedule next year...also either Dabo Swinney took the short bus to school as a kid or he needs his voting privileges revoked. Unbelievable -

He doesn’t want that kinda smoke. He knows what he did and will cower in his basement hoping to god IU loses to Ole Miss. He knows how much talent his football program poaches from Indiana...oh and Coy Cronk? You’re persona non grata as far as I’m concerned...enjoy going from a 1-3rd round pick to going undrafted. Fred said this as accurately as could be said...The Iowa’s, OSU’s, Michigan’s want no part of IU building a program for the reasons he laid out...this season won’t stop what is being built. I sincerely hope non NFL guys like Whop, Crider, Powell and Swain chose to come back next year in a quest for something even greater. -
Can someone please explain to me why we need a CFP committee? Why is this random group a better/more qualified quorum of assessors than the AP and the Coaches who form their bowl? You can’t convince me that having the Florida AD on this committee didn’t keep them in a NY6 bowl and that they would still be there if their AD wasn’t on the committee
-
If they want to play go for it but if they don’t think it’s worth their time, I agree
-
I’m perfectly fine if we sit this bowl game out.
-
Sounds awfully familiar...where else have I seen this scenario. Except it may have been on the road after the home team had a free bye week the road team didn’t get all season.
-
You’re bringing logic into an illogical situation so may want to temper your expectations. The thing to remember is how the committee adjusts losses (and wins for that matter) after conference title games. They always hold less weight than regular season outcomes and are basically tie breakers. At the end of the day, ND was ranked #2 going into last night so how can they drop 3 full spots for losing to Clemson in a title game when Florida only dropped one spot for losing to an LSU team that had a losing record

Who’s Your IU MVP vs Butler
KzooHoosier82 replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Al’s out of control takes to the basket leading in nothing good don’t count as turnovers on the stat sheet but make no mistake, they are turnovers. I appreciate his rebounds but I’d rather he distribute and defend...Franklin gets MVP today -
Unfortunately Florida’s one spot drop after the LSU game’s precedent means ND has to stay the top 4. There’s no way to justify a larger drop for ND after a conference title game loss to the 3rd ranked team who they beat earlier in the season. At this point all I’m hoping for is a blowout win in the Citrus Bowl followed by a huge middle finger to the committee and an incredible/historic year next year.
-
You’re 100% right but I don’t see a way they will drop more than a spot Florida if a one score loss to LSU only drops them a spot. It’s criminal what the committee did to IU and the BigTen last week. Unless there’s a major change I don’t see Florida or Iowa St. dropping
-
I agree with you but all logic points to IU is a better football team. ISU had 3 losses and today’s wasn’t as close as the scoreboard shows. Match that with OSU beating Northwestern by two TDs with a hobbled QB and quite a few covid/opt outs. A 7 point loss on the road with OSU coming off a bye week HAS to look even better. I think the committee knows they screwed IU but they don’t have the balls to admit it and correct their mistake. Either way, ISU has no business in the top 10. Florida will soon follow
-
In fairness a lot of his short throws were just due to his lack of arm strength. The OC has to dial up routes that fit within your QBs skillset.
-
That was on purpose. His TE was supposed to come back to the ball, and if he does it’s a TD. If Ramsey throws it over the top there it’s OB. That stuff happens when you’ve only played one shorted season with your receivers
-
Peyton Ramsey does the most with probably the least god given talent in major college football. Kid does everything right. He won’t be playing on Sundays but I’d love to have him on IU’s coaching staff in the future

IUBB vs Butler - 12/19/20 Crossroads Classic @ 11:30 a.m. ET
KzooHoosier82 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This team needs Franklin more than I ever thought would be possible. Al and Rob just don’t have what it takes to bring consistent effort and skill. Today was a tough game and I love the way they came out in the second half. If this team is going to be successful the guard play has to improve dramatically outside of Franklin. I’d like to see less Rob/Al and more Lander/Trey. Ask these guys to probe and dish and take open looks when provided. When Al/Rob try to run the floor, create or take jump shots nothing good comes of it. -

If Hunter and Rob aren’t going to block out they can’t be on the floor. We’re getting crushed on the boards by a smaller and less athletic team. -

I kinda wish there was a coaches challenge system ala the NFL in college basketball. That charge call reviewed would be overturned. -
He’s got tubes of some sort coming out of both knees from what I can see
