A buddy of mine told me rumor has it that Carson Beck tore his UCL in his elbow and is done for the season. Grapevine stuff, so take it with a grain of salt.

It’s actually sort of funny their fanbase would have to google our season to find out what a year we’re having. I live squarely in SEC country down here in Georgia, and have far and away heard more chatter about IU being a legit, fundamental football team than anything about ND. Frankly people around the country have little reason to pay attention to ND with them not being in a conference. Doesn’t help that they’re considered a joke in postseason games. Didn’t they lose like 13 straight bowl games at one point? I hope they are feeling overly confident. Because my “inside sources” Down here are already telling me they’d rather play ND than a hungry and well coached IU team. And that’s coming from fans that talk down to the Bama and Clemsons of the world regularly.

I just don’t think they will drop TX that far down with an overtime loss in the SEC championship game. They were number 2. Putting them below OSU and ND who didn’t have to play an extra game seems like a bad precedent. I’d say TX goes to the 5-seed. Same sentiment for PSU losing a close one to Oregon. Think the committee tries not to punish them and keeps them at 6. If you start dropping runners up in championship games 4-5 places there’s gonna be more backlash and potential teams forfeiting games in the future. I have 5 - Texas 6 - PSU 7 - ND 8 - OSU 9 - TN 10 - IU 11- Clemson 12- SMU/Bama

They didn’t just lose to Oklahoma either, they scored 3 points against them. That’s effectively getting shutout by a 5-5 team. That’s a really bad loss.

Call me crazy but this would be my dream scenario for IU this year. A short trip to a ND team that I feel is overrated and beatable in a familiar climate in-state. And then Georgia on a nuetral field where I think they have been a very inconsistent team all year. I live in GA, and even the most die-hard dawg fans have said this doesn’t feel like the GA teams of the past few years, and every game it feels like they only play half a game. We could very easily punch them in the mouth early and then get a few Carson Beck turnovers and they start chasing the game. Let’s see what they do tomorrow, but I could see them liking and in-state rivalry game for tv ratings with IU/ND.
-
It’s all about money. Nobody wants to see a third GA/TX game. I guarantee some thought will be given to good television and travel matchups. Remember this is a business. That’s why I think they figure out a way to have IU at Notre Dame. We shall see.

Any relation between this Oladipo playing for Boise St and Vic? Kid makes plays.

Haven’t said this in a few years, but didn’t watch the second half because I’m just not that connected with this team. Watching Boise St/UNLV to see how our football seed is affected. Looks like we got things going I guess? -

They don’t have the horses, but I’d pay good money to an NIL collective to get us to run some of their sets with our players. They get open looks, movement off the ball, guys open under the bucket. It’s pretty. -
It’s a shame for Duke that March Madness isn’t played in Cameron Indoor. Their home court advantage is real but they’ll lose to a double digit seed on a nuetral court. Mark it down now in December. It’s coming.

Looks like we’ll escape but not a lot of confidence being built scraping by and losing to, some of these mid-majors. Need Syd back. Early January we have a brutal schedule. UCLA, Iowa, ILL and USC in first five games all ranked. Yikes. -

I think some of that comes from a lack of development and playing time as underclassmen. It’s been a mainstay of CTM teams that frosh don’t get minutes unless they’re Holmes/Buss level immediate impact. And like I mentioned above we usually only go 6-7 deep. Well, our upperclassmen finally graduated after benefiting from xtra years for injuries (Patberg/Cardano) or covid (Berger/Holmes). This is kind of the cliff you fall off eventually when you don’t develop young players and don’t hit a home run in the portal. -
Baylor at #15 is kind of a head scratcher. They lost to the Zags by 38, Tn by 15 and beat St. John’s by 1-pt in double OT.

Seems like flirting with the injury bug because we only ever go 6 or 7 deep is finally biting us in the butt. My fears that we didnt use our team success to land talent the past few years is looking very real. Losing CMM and Syd this year we might be missing our opportunity and headed back to being irrelevant. Hope we hit the portal hard. -

Bako might be the most one dimensional player we’ve had since Romeo Langford. He only has interest in taking shots on the offensive end. Doesn’t even pretend. -
This can’t happen. They answered this on the reveal show tonight in talking about Miami, Bama, S. Car and Ole Miss. Teams that are done playing are not moving. Bama can’t jump IU. The only movement will be seeding, or autos bumping out the 11/12 seeds.
-
I’m 100% behind this as well, although no chance it will happen because of the money involved with those bowls who will demand the big revenue fan bases that travel in their games. But wouldn’t it be cool if one year we have a season similar to Illinois this year at 9-3 and got to go to the Rose Bowl? How much more would that mean to a team than it will for a UGA/Bama/Tx/OSU, etc. who treat it as a stepping stone to the semifinals? Also, I went to Jacksonville for our trip to the Gator Bowl in 2020, and the week leading up to the game was packed with things for the team and events that celebrated their season. As much as the playoffs are going to mean a lot, missing that bowl game experience for teams who don’t host the game is a loss. It’s just going to feel like a road game at some point even if it’s a big time game obviously.
-
It’s really screwing up what should be good, exciting first round games. An Indiana/Boise St game or a Tennessee/Arizona St game would be much more entertaining. Give the 8-12 seeds legitimate chances to win a game in the playoffs and go to a big bowl game. Does anyone really want to see Georgia or Texas or Oregon beat a 10-12 seed by 40 points just to go play OSU or TN or ND in the second round for a competitive game? Rank them 1-12 so you have competitive games down the board.

The offense sure looks better with only one of Ballo/MR on the court at one time. How weird. Who could have predicted that?! -
The commissioner said as much to Reece Davis. That the teams who aren’t playing next week won’t have any more data points to be rearranged. So Miami behind Bama means they’re out.
-
They’re definitely going to punish them in seeding. The only one that would get punished by being left out is probably Clemson though. But guaranteed the seeding will change based on winners and losers. The chairman just said it would be a data point they evaluate.
