(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't think Zion is going to have a great college career. He'll be one and done regardless based on his athleticism alone which the NBA will drool over but he has no game outside of dunking. He won't have the luxury to dunk like crazy against good competition and will instead have to establish a skill set. Force him right and he is done for. There's a reason his entire highlight reel is only dunks. Little and Barrett look like the real deal and Romeo is Romeo...we already know he is legit. Need J Will to do a little more recruiting for us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
2018 NCAA Tournament Games
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This seemed very fishy considering the line was FSU +4.5 and Hamilton tells his players to back off only down 4 with 11 seconds left. That's an eternity. Virginia was down 4 to Louisville with 0.9 seconds left AND WON! Either Hamilton is absolutely clueless or he bet his entire contract on FSU +4.5. His post game interview when asked about it didn't help matters either...I gotta feeling more is gonna come from this interview. He acted like he got caught shaving points and got flustered. I'm just reporting what I've heard so you can laugh or whatever you want idc. Like I said not saying it's true but just what I've been hearing. Also the rumor about Romeos girlfriend transferring to IU from NKU are true per some New Albany family I sat next to. Also hearing you're gonna see TJDs younger brother with an offer here if TJD commits...again just what the word in the CG area has been. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I was fortunate to witness Romeo play against TJD in the Seymour regional last night and wow that was a crazy experience! As for Romeo, I just can't imagine there is a better player in HS in the country than him. I was able to watch Eric Gordon play in HS against Greg Oden and Mike Conley and I can tell you Romeo is far and above a better player than those 3 mentioned when they were in high school. There's no doubt he'll be a household name similar to Trae Young next year...except he actually makes his team better. Definitely a one of a kind player and great kid. I live near CG so I have seen TJD play several times but it was something else seeing Romeo live in action. The seats filled up so fast I had to sit in the NA section and I got to talking to serval people from there and each one of them think IU is where Romeo will end up. Again, nobody knows for certain but that's what the NA feels at this point. I was surprised Bryce Drew didn't make an appearance and was glad to see that Archie brought out Ostrom and Flint and Phinisee to visit with Romeo...Let's hope this final push pays off BIG! As for TJD I can tell you that he and Brooks are super close and have a "pact" to play together in college. Both his parents are now pushing for IU....I also know from good source that Archie is the only one who has been keeping in contact with him recently and Izzo/MSU hasn't made contact in several months. TJDs mom went to IU and his stepdad has pushed for IU since the allegations at MSU came out...prior he was aboard TJD to MSU. Just thought I'd share my experience last night and info that I've heard here recently. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
The commentators of the UK-UGA game said that if Georgia wins this game their tourney chances go up to 98%??? 12th seed in the SEC and 7-11 in conference. That would make 9 teams from the $EC and yet the B1Gs 4th seed won't make it lol. SEC way overrated and I think everyone will see that come the first weekend of the tourney. I don't think a team has ever finished the regular season ranked and not made the tournament. I know rankings have nothing to do with it but I guarantee you they're safely in regardless of this loss. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Congrats to Mike Roberts (associate head coach) and UNCG! Going dancing for the 3rd time in school history. Laugh at me now but I'm picking the Fighting Mike Roberts' as my upset special this year...I don't care who they play! They're solid and senior led...watch out! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't put a lot of stock in HS rankings...I understand Yogi was rated higher and was/is a better player than Rob but what I'm saying is he is going to be a true floor leader and starter from day 1 and most likely for 4 years just like Yogi. He's an all around winner and a pg who looks to get others involved first but if he has to score he can and has shown that especially his senior year. I watched Yogi play at Park Tudor and I've seen Rob play in person and I can guarantee you he is HIGHLY underrated and will be more than half the player Yogi was/is...we are extremely lucky he chose to come here instead of stay in West Laffy trust me! He'll make a world of difference from Day 1. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think there is zero chance Phinisee comes off the bench. He is the next Yogi for us in my opinion...and I'd be willing to bet either Damezi or Hunter start as well. IF Romeo comes that would be great but being realistic and assuming he doesn't come I think our lineup will look like this: Phinisee Morgan Davis Anderson/Hunter Smith/Green depending on matchups I think Anderson can play at the 2 spot if need be and is going to make a HUGE impact immediately because of his shooting alone (something we didn't have ALL year) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

I agree he is way undersized to play in the NBA and doesn't have much of a game outside of under the basket....Tyler Hansbrough had more of a game and a better motor but is about the same size...just ask him how his career is going with the Mad Ants. Unless he magically develops a shot within the next 2 months or increases his vertical by 10 inches, he's not going anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Bardo said IU could be a surprise team in the BTT...we have always stunk it up in the BTT, but maybe with a different venue things will be different for us! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

You can hate him and everyone knows he's a tool but he's not wrong...these "metrics" and "quadrants" created by these people are ridiculous. And because of this system, Auburn, Clemson, Cincinnati, and Texas Tech are all better than Michigan State?? If you put MSU vs any of those schools, who are you picking?? MSU because we watch basketball and know they're better. Upsets happen but MSU IS better than those teams hands down...in both talent and coaching...Auburn had more quadrant 2 wins so they're clearly better!!! Joke. Jay Bilas said it best...the people who are creating these metrics and picking these "seeds" are those who never played a sport in their life and were always picked last in gym class. These decisions aren't made by people who truly know the game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Oklahoma getting worked by Kansas...when is ESPN and the so-called experts going to get off the OU bandwagon and realize they just aren't good. Trae Young is good yes, but the bottom line is his team isn't winning and takes 30 shots to get 30 points. This will be their 6th loss in a row and are gonna be 6-9 in conference and 16-11 overall and the "experts" have them as a lock in the field as a 5 seed??? I don't get it. (2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Just spoke with a guy whose son plays at Warren Central and knows Aaron Henry pretty well and said that Archie met with him 2 weeks ago and word is that he's decommitting from MSU in the midst of all that is going on and will be coming to Bloomington next year. He said the writing isn't completely on the wall but that speaks volume about what Archie thinks our chances are to land Romeo...if true of course. Looks like Archie has a solid backup plan in place. Potential starting 5 for next year, does Juwan GoPro?
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to tortex28's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
IF Romeo comes, I think we're going to see a starting 5 of Phinisee, Langford, Hunter, Morgan, and Davis. Hunter is going to be an immediate impact player. Anderson will see a good amount of minutes based on his shooting ability alone and we will get contributions from Smith, Green, McBob, and Race off the bench. IF Romeo goes elsewhere, most likely Green will take that spot. I think Davis has A LOT of work to do to be able to contribute in Archie's system next year and is going to need to raise his awareness and footwork to fit back in...I think Race may be a better piece to the Archie puzzle having a better motor/skill set than Davis. Forgetting Damezi Anderson...he's going to have a huge impact for us next year. He's a player that can create his own shot, score with ease, and a great shooter. We lack each one of those with this team right now. He's gonna be an immediate impact guy and if he's playing along side Romeo with Phinisee running the show. We're gonna have one of the best backcourts in the B1G. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
