Fisch is on with Dakich right now and said there’s some unfortunate news regarding an injury that Tom Allen will announce later and IU will be missing a big piece but wouldn’t say who it was. I’m hoping he’s just alluding to Stevie and/or Stepaniak which we figured to be without anyway. I have a feeling the news is that Whop is going to be a no-go tonight. Hope I’m wrong. Hope I’m wrong but I think Archie is a dead man walking. I just can’t comprehend how you have zero shooters 3 years in a row. In all honesty, that’s all this team is missing and would make a world of difference. Put a Stefanovic on this team and we’re a legit B1G contender. Teams won’t respect our shot and will just pack it in against us and we’ll continue to have these types of games. Play Cooper Bybee or at least give the kid a shot...maybe he spreads out the defenses and allows our offense to actually flow a little better. At this point, you have to try something different. I’ll take a W over losing any day of the week, but the reality is we’ve played 2 of the worst teams in the B1G and from these games, I don’t know how anybody could be positive with this team right now. I’m not one to be negative on here but if we lose this game, I’m not opposed to firing Archie immediately. Nebrasketball has owned us in the last few years and that should NEVER happen. Illinois has talent and bigs but Michigan made zero adjustments to stop them 2nd half. Illinois just drove and drove and drove and fed their big men and seemingly got fouled or a layup nearly every possession. Have to pack it in and force them to shoot outside. Shot just 1-11 from 3.
