So refreshing to have USPS’s takes on here and someone who truly understands college basketball as well as bracketology. So many people think there’s a magic number (20) with a winning conference record is what gets you into the tourney. I’ve argued with people a handful of times about this and they just don’t understand the inner workings of tourney selections and what is valued and I feel like I’m just wasting my breath on these people. 6 Quad 1 wins for IU now and is good for 2nd most in college basketball. With ZERO Quad 3/4 losses, IU is in A LOT better shape than most realize. Very well could lose out and still get in. 2 more wins and they’re a lock, especially if one of those wins either comes on the road or against Penn State. 1 more win and we’re squarely on the bubble but at 18 regular season wins and 1 in the BTT and I still think they’re in. At 14-13 they are still in quite a bit of projected brackets and have a NET of 33 and SOS of 5. Assuming they go 3-1 to finish the season (3 home games against unranked opponents) and finish 10-10 in conference, I would bet they get in. I know the conference record isn’t on team sheets but the metrics would have Purdue in the top 30 in NET and a SOS of top 5. Is the committee really going to keep them out??? I mean IU finished 17-15 and was the first team OUT of the field last year with worse numbers in comparison to NET and SOS. The 2 Quad 3 losses are HUGE and could be the biggest factor to keep them out but can anyone explain how at 14-13 with 2 Quad 3 losses and a Quad 1 record of 3-10, they are 33 in the NET??? I realize history says that an 18-15 has a slim chance at making the tourney but that was prior to the NET and Quad system which is what’s emphasized by the committee now, which is what makes me think Purdue would get in at 18-15. I’d love to be wrong though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I was at the game tonight and had Leal with 16 points on 5/5 shooting, 2/2 from 3 and 4/5 from free throw. Very efficient game, doesn’t force anything and has a VERY high basketball IQ. Moves really well and showed moments of explosiveness and handled the ball well. Watched him closely on defense and he had the assignment of guarding CN’s best player Blake Barker who averages close to 20 and completely shut him down and held him to 7 points. He’s not going to come in right away and contribute major minutes but I could see him contributing the way Franklin has this year. This kid is going to be a great 4 year player who may go down as one of the most beloved Hoosiers. BS is so well coached and it just surprises me that Holmes never made the leap to college.That guy GETS IT! Also, Conner Hickman (2021) on BS is legit. Only has 2 smaller D1 offers but I would be surprised if he doesn’t get major looks this summer. I can’t see Archie offering him anything more than a preferred walk on spot given the loaded 2021 class but I could totally see Hickman going to somewhere like NW and being a pain in our backside for several years. The public doesn’t know this team as well as its fans, that’s why. People will still bet IU because we’re at home and our record doesn’t look that bad on paper especially compared to Iowa’s. I’m with ya. I tried to be patient and give Archie the benefit of the doubt and made excuses for him last year and the beginning of this year but I just can’t anymore. This is unwatchable and is not INDIANA basketball in the slightest. This job is just too big for little Archie and he has given us no reason to believe in him anymore. I’m officially off the Give Archie Time train...the train is going nowhere. Unless a miracle happens over these next few weeks, it’s time to pack your bags Arch.
