From everything I’ve seen, IU is mostly not even in one of the last 4 byes, meaning they are safely in the field. The way I look at the bubble, Texas and Texas Tech will play each other in the first round of the Big12 Tourney and that is a defacto elimination game. Same goes for the potential 2nd round matchup in the Pac12 with Stanford/UCLA (assuming Stanford beats Cal). So the way I look at it, that means those teams are just going to cancel each other out. That being said, it’s gonna take several bid stealers for IU to come close to being on the cut line. Teams like Georgia, UNC, Minny, DePaul would have to win their conference tourneys for things to start to look hairy. Could be wrong, but the bubble seems very weak this year. I agree. Another win, albeit Nebraska, will still get us to 20 wins overall and will add another neutral court win. I would bet big money they won’t leave a 20-13 Indiana (with our resume and ZERO bad losses) out of the field for a Wichita State or NC State for example. Arizona is getting worked over at home by the worst team in the Pac12. Have to wonder what kind of position this puts Arizona in. I know the NET has Arizona top 10 but Sagarin has them at 33. Overall record would be 20-11 (10-8 in Pac12) They are 3-7 vs Quad 1, 5-3 vs Quad 2, and 12-1 vs Quads 3/4. Lunardi is all about entertaining the masses and creating interest which is why he is doing this with Indiana. It’s good for the business and creates clicks. He has really lost a lot of credibility over the years with this approach and it shows in the bracket matrix rankings. I still find myself viewing his projections daily just for a laugh. He had IU as a 10 seed prior to their road games last week, they lost both and he moved IU up to a 9. IU moves up 2 spots in the NET up to 52 and Minny moves up 2 spots as well to NET 45. Arizona State drops 4 spots with their home loss to Washington and are now 1 spot behind us at 53. Both our NET average win and NET average loss got better last night. Our worst loss was to NET 43 and our average NET loss will be close to 25.
