If you need a good laugh or want to take your mind off everything going on, I highly recommend you visit the GBI board. Pure gold right now in the “Incredible disconnect” thread. Just scroll for Treed1967’s comments (Nojel’s mama)...you won’t be disappointed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I think he’s either MAC or Horizon bound. Had heard his father was talking with Wright State, Toledo, and Miami OH prior to the season last year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Franklin’s minutes/role diminished immensely at the end of the season and I had heard he wasn’t happy about it but didn’t expect him to ever really transfer. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Hearing there will be one more transfer joining Anderson...if I had to guess I’d say it’s one of Durham, Smith, or Franklin with my money being on Franklin. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Word is that Haarms will be BYU bound. Kentucky fans quickly anointed him as the best big man in the history of the game...now that he is BYU-bound, he was “only a bench player at Purdue and is not that big a deal.” Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2020) SG Anthony Leal to IU
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This is the first time in a long time, I am truly optimistic (and not just cautiously optimistic) heading into a season. Assuming Lander comes in this summer, I will be VERY surprised if we’re not preseason top 25. There really is no reason this team does not finish in the top 5/6 of the B1G this next year. iIf we miraculously are able to bring in a true shooter via grad transfer (assuming a spot opens up), then I’m gonna go ahead and purchase my Final Four tickets in Indy (I kid, I kid)! This kid will get IU to a Final 4 at least once in his 4 year career here. There’s no doubt about it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Coronavirus and Its Impact
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Off Topic Forum
My brother and his wife both just recovered from Covid-19 and both said it was more or less just an annoyance than anything. Never felt that sick or that their life was in jeopardy. My brother lost his sense of smell and taste and said that was the biggest bummer since he is a big time green egg griller. They are surprised at how it is being portrayed right now by the media. Economy is collapsing and country needs reopened ASAP. Those that are at consider high risk should self isolate while all others should go about and just be cautious with social distancing practices that have been in place. These projections have been way off thankfully and really hope we can get back to “normal” a lot sooner than later. Look at what Sweden has done and their economy only went down 5% compared to 30% to ours. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Find it nearly impossible to believe that (most likely) Indiana Mr. Basketball will come to IU and redshirt...no way. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Could be right but time will tell. Rivers has always played with one of the worst offensive lines in the league and has been forced into making some questionable throws which lead to a high number of INTs. Jacoby had the opposite problem and was indecisive and resulted in him having to utilize his legs a lot and the receivers to create space on their own leading to a lot of broken plays. The people around the Chargers organization have said that he still has the strength and accuracy and the only issue was due to his lack of time in the pocket. Will be interesting to see him behind one of the best lines in the league. I still believe the Colts need to go out and get one really solid WR to bolster their receiving core for him. Colts just signed Phillip Rivers to a one-year deal worth $25 mil. Colts are definitely spending money this offseason. As a lifelong Colts fan, I have never been a fan of Rivers and mostly couldn’t stand him and his attitude. That being said, this certainly provides a little excitement in the area and IMO is definitely an upgrade over Jacoby and gives the Colts a chance to compete next year. Obviously this looks to be a bridge for their future QB and I love the move. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Game Thread: Indiana Hoosiers vs. Penn State Nittany Lions Lions - CANCELED
BGVille Hoosierfan replied to IUc2016's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The flu during flu season (Nov-Jan) claimed 16,000 lives in the US this year. Covid-19 has claimed 39 lives (22 of those in a single nursing home in Washington state) since January. The reason the fatality rate looks high is because A LOT more have had Covid-19 already without knowing so those numbers don’t get reported. Not to downplay this, but drink your OJ and wash your hands and we’ll get through this together. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

My brother’s father-in-law is a doctor and he said that the Covid-19 is no worse than the common cold. He said that most people will carry it and be rid of it without even knowing that they carried the virus because our immune systems will adjust and kick it so quick. He said more people should be worried about regular flu season than what is going on and only people truly affected by it are the elderly and those that have an immune deficiency or health issues...just like with the cold or flu. He said while it is an “unknown” and there is no true medicine specified for it at this time, he said there’s no reason to be so much panic and the media is hyping this up way too much and for purposes you can probably guess. He said if they’re shutting events down for this, then they probably need to consider not playing sports or having events during the winter/flu season ever again...because that is much worse. Take it for what it’s worth, but he’s a doctor and I trust his word. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Call me crazy but who else feels like in this crazy crazy world we’re living in right now, the time only feels right that IU finally wins the B1G Tourney 🤷♂️ Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
I know the season is still going on, but right now it really just feels like it’s already over and it’s so disappointing. I look forward to March Madness more than any other sporting event and we’re all about to have that taken away. Even if they do decide to continue it, it’s just not going to be the same without fans in the stands and is going to be hard to watch and get excited for. The Ivy League commissioner is who to blame as he made the first move and put ALL other commissioners under pressure to do the same. Just disappointing and in my opinion is a major overreaction. I heard that too...said he agreed and that no team under .500 deserves to be in the tourney. Ohio State finished 4 games under .500 last year and won a tournament game. Funny how short everyone’s memory is. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
