Are the B1G student athletes not adults too??? Why is he forcing them to sit. It’s ok for his son to play because his son is an adult but he can force other adults to sit who WANT TO PLAY along with their adult parents who WANT THEM TO PLAY. These kids are much safer in a more controlled environment than if they don’t play. The argument that this is for health reasons and player safety is an absolute joke. Short answer...no. From my understanding, he was the “mastermind” of our offense and we’ve seen some of the worst basketball on the offensive side of things at IU in a long time during his time here. I’ll never forget he and Archie going at it during the Purdue game last year, while Archie ripped our offense and Bruiser clearly trying to defend it. I know many don’t like Dan Dakich but DD never thought highly of Bruiser and said he was the only staff member that wouldn’t even acknowledge him and would stand at the practice with his hands in his pockets for the entirety of the practice. I’m not here to argue with anyone, these were taken directly from the coronavirus.in.gov website. Just wanted to point out that things for us Hoosiers seem to be getting better in the state. Indiana has a little over 2600 total deaths in the state and nearly half of them came from nursing homes. Testing has gone up, which means more positive results, but most importantly, daily deaths and hospitalizations continue to decline as well as the amount of those Covid patients actually being in an ICU bed or on a ventilator. Sadly, it’s only because he stood to lose nearly $3 mil had he opted out. He thought he would be covered under those allowed to opt out due to injury and still be paid, but this was not the case. He will most likely play a few games and I’d bet he gets shelved for a soft “injury” so he can still get paid. There is definitely some friction between he and the Pacers, mostly with Nate. I saw Sam Story posted that unfortunately the bigger college football news will be coming out in 3-4 weeks according to a source. I know he’s not always reliable, but if I had to guess I’d assume that news is going to be all bowl games will be canceled this year, assuming there is a season. The CDC came out yesterday and said that antibody tests have shown that the number of Covid cases is closer to 10x that of the reported number from tests. I think this is the type of kid IU has been missing for years and is eerily similar to Jordy Hulls (minus the shooting form). I hope we lock this kid up soon before somebody like Duke tries to swoop in and steal him. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t end up in the top 20 of his class. Will be interesting to see if numbers spike in the next couple weeks with the thousands of people around the country coming together. If not, then there is no reason everything shouldn’t be back open and you’d think sports could resume/start up with fans.
