What else do you think he would say ... "We wanted Brad Stevens. In fact, we thought we had him in the bag. But at the last minute, he changed his mind. So with that, I'd like to introduce to you Darian Devries, our new basketball coach." -

We do have a history of head coaches with the initials DD who previously were head coaches at West Virginia. Our good friend, who of course led the team after the Kelvin Sampson fiasco, spent a week as the Mountaineers' head coach in 2007. -

I'm actually with Rabby on this one. There's a chance we could hear something today. If not today, tomorrow. If not tomorrow, the next day. If not the next day, the day after that. If not the day after that, then the day after that. But I do think before the calendar changes to April, we will have a coach. -

(2024) - SF Bryson Tucker to INDIANA
LamarCheeks replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Tuck, invoking his best Lee Corso, says: "Not so fast, my friend." (And technically, neither he nor anybody else can be in the portal -- because the portal is not open. They can announce intentions to go portaling, however.) -

Kinda funny how last night, it was -- Whew! No Brad Brownell. Today, we're back to -- OMG! It's gonna be Brad Brownell. I absolutely have no idea who our next coach will be. But I do think this: No one coach will make entirely everyone happy (maybe not even BS), and while Dolson knows winning games is more important than winning the press conference, he also knows that getting as much of the fan base back into the fold as possible will be critical. I just cannot imagine when the time comes for the presser, he's gonna say, "Hey everyone -- here's our new coach. We're really excited about him joining our IU family" -- and then trot out Brad Brownell. -

Dakich has trashed fans as well -- so for him to hammer on these guys for doing so is hypocritical, IMO. Dakich, however, will twist anything to fit his narrative. He had washed his hands of RMK for years. Then, when RMK dies -- he's telling everyone they don't know Knight like he did, didn't have the right to mourn like he would and prattled about how he was so affected by his passing. He's a phony. -

Crazy seeing PU with 11 losses and Arizona with 12 get No. 4 seeds. I still remember the year of our Kelvin Sampson fiasco -- we had the resume of a No. 4 or 5 seed (25-7 record) and they gave us a No. 8. That was the NCAA totally sticking it to us.
