Does Woody realize that you don't have to trot the original staring 5 out there at the beginning of the second half? When I was in school, we were up at Notre Dame -- losing at halftime. Jamal Meeks, who didn't play one minute in the first half, started the second. RMK thought we needed to get quicker on defense -- and it made the difference. Barring injury, I don't recall Woody (or Archie for that matter) ever not using the same 5 to open the second half that started the game.

Still not sure why the Li'l Amish point guard is so eager to advertise that he abuses heroin ...

Florida Gulf Coast loses to Queens in the Atlantic Sun tourney. Queens kid tries to throw it down after the buzzer. FGCU's Pat Chambers (formerly of the Ninny Lions) gets snippy and refuses to shake the Queens coach's hand and sorta goes after the kid who tried to dunk -- before an assistant pushes him away. Yep. I feel the same way. While I think Brownell would be an upgrade over Woody -- nobody would be mentioning him in connection with IU if he weren't from Indiana. If he were from anywhere else, nobody would care.

Um, he wasn't -- for any of those. Which was my point. Nobody would associate his name with IU if he weren't from Indiana.

If jobs at UNC, Kansas, UConn, UCLA, Syracuse, Louisville, Arizona, or maybe Illinois, etc. -- schools that are generally considered better at basketball than football -- opened, would Brad Brownell be considered a candidate? Highly doubtful -- or if so, only because of recency bias (Clemson did make the Elite Eight last year and is having a great season this year). But in 14 seasons at Clemson, Brownell had made four NCAA tourneys. If he weren't from Indiana, his name would never be mentioned in connection with IU.

Groce being posted as a candidate is humorous. But he was responsible for this. Still pisses me off ... Although Crean getting schooled, or Cody and/or Watford falling asleep and getting lost might actually have been more to blame!

That faction would be wrong. There's really nothing enticing about a John Groce candidacy. Or Steve Alford for that matter ...
