He totally lollygagged it after that ball. If he runs hard after it, he catches it -- easily. I don't understand what the hell he was thinking and/or doing!

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

I'll say IU, Vandy and Kansas. I'm thinking between now and November, the NCAA finally will rule on UNC. That might push them out. Then again, it's the NCAA -- so a teeny-weeny slap on the wrist is entirely possible, too.
  3. Do you not know how to read? Go back and look at what I wrote. I said I have a whole new appreciation for what Joe Tiller did at Purdue. He came in and won right away, taking a bunch of low-star players he didn't recruit and winning nine games. Those same players won five games the previous two years combined. I'm sure people said it would take a long time to turn Purdue around -- Tiller didn't need a long time, or any time for that matter. We have not had a coach ever come in and have a season like that in his first year. Will Tom Allen? I hope so, but I can't imagine we will have nine wins by season's end. If we do, great. I just don't see it happening.
  4. As much as I hate to admit it, what happened Saturday -- and what has happened to IU football pretty much ever since the Bill Mallory years -- gave me a whole new appreciation for the late Joe Tiller. In his very first year with the Toiletmakers, after they were godawful for several years, they went 9-3. Essentially, he took a bunch of crappy players and found a way to win with them. And after that, he just kept on winning. In the five years before he arrived, they won 4, 1, 5, 4 and 3 games. Nothing against Tom Allen, but why can't we get a coach like that? Guess if they grew on trees, everybody would have them, eh? We get a new coach, wait for him to turn it around and when he doesn't, we start all over again. Maybe Allen will be a difference maker, but I'm not holding my breath.

    Corruption in College Basketball

First of all, I don't believe for one second that he had zero to do with it or that he didn't know about it. Second of all, that doesn't even matter. There's been enough s--t go down in his program over the past few years that any coach would HAVE to expect to be terminated after the latest revelations -- even if he didn't know. But he did know -- he's the one who said "If one of my players has a beer in Louisville, I know about it." Jeezus, just stop lying.
  6. I guess in Happy Valley, a receiver wearing blue is allowed to push off?
  7. And we get the ball to start the second half.
  8. In Lagow's defense, he did a helluva job on that kneel down to end the half.
  9. We could go at this another way: If his receivers were 8 feet, 6 inches tall, he might be pretty damn good.
  10. Thanks, but that was kind of a rhetorical question! LOL!
  11. What good is having an NFL-caliber arm if you can't hit wide-open receivers?
  12. Is it too late to change my pick in the prediction game thread? Silly me -- I only had Penn State scoring 38 points today. I need to make that 68. Maybe 78?

I'm wondering if the Louisville acting prez will make a move regarding a coach today. He said on Wednesday that since practice starts Friday (today), he wanted to have an interim coach in place within the next 48 hours. I haven't seen anything yet. I find it difficult to imagine it would be Crean, but stranger things have happened ...

Normally not a huge fan of Bilas, but in this case, I'm all for it. The better Sean looks, the better Archie will look. Although Sean's actions have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Archie, there are plenty of people out there who will associate the two and assume that because Sean's program is suspect, Archie's is, too. Obviously none of us will, but don't doubt that other schools will use that in recruiting against IU.

Pitino is like Nixon. He just can't stop lying. According to ESPN, he has been identified as "Coach 2" in the FBI report -- as in $100,000 was funneled to the family of Brian Bowen at the request of "Coach 2." ... Keep pleading innocence, Ricky -- you're not gonna get that $44 million you think Louisville owes you!

    Corruption in College Basketball

I don't see the NCAA shuttering the UL program for any period of time, for several reasons: 1) Practice starts in a couple days. Unless the NCAA acts in the next 2-3 days, I don't see them letting these guys practice for any period of time, then saying, "Hey, sorry -- you guys don't get to have a season." 2) I can't believe they'd let them play this season -- when the poop hit the fan -- then decide they can't play in 2018-19 or later. 3) There's too much money to be lost 4) If they didn't shut down an athletic program that harbored a child rapist for years while looking the other way, I don't think it happens here.

Yep. As Jeff Goodman said on ESPN last night: You can lie to the NCAA. You'd better not lie to the FBI.

Why would they ask Jurich to fire Pitino? What would they say ... "Hey Tom, can you fire Rick. And then after that, we're gonna fire you." ... Clearly, the plan was to remove them both, so why want Jurich to drop the ax on Pitino? As a way to acknowledge his culpability in the whole thing?

Apparently, someone is having a little fun on Wikipedia: Thomas M. Jurich (born July 26, 1956) is an American college sports administrator and former football player. He was the vice president and director of athletics at the University of Louisville until he done got fired. He was hired on October 21, 1997 after holding the same positions at Colorado State University and Northern Arizona University. On Oct. 1, 2007, Jurich and the university entered into a contract that runs through July 26, 2023. The agreement was an extension of an agreement that began April 1, 2004.[1] In 2007, Jurich was selected Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal/SportsBusiness Daily National Athletic Director of the year.[2][3]
