One account I read of the Boeheim incident was like this: Car loses control in bad weather and bad road conditions and hits guard rail. Driver gets out of car. Boeheim drives by, swerves to miss car in road and in doing so, hits driver -- who is out of the car. Neither Boeheim nor the driver were impaired and Boehim was driving at an appropriate speed, according to preliminary reports. Just seems like a very, very unfortunate and very, very tragic situation.

But what former Indiana guys are qualified for the top job in B-Town? Dane Fife? C'mon! ... I love the kid, but he's is in no way shape or form ready for a job like that. Steve Alford also most likely would've come back in a heartbeat if he were asked, but I don't want him, either. -

I wrote here earlier that I was a bit skeptical, and that hasn't changed. ... Still, Mr. McNeil wears No. 11 and I'm thinking that number may be available next season ... -

I'm gonna be a bit of an outlier here -- a bit. He indeed looks like a helluva shooter, but to me, he also looks a bit slow -- for a B1G player, that is. I'd be very concerned about how he can get shots off against B1G guards. Now, when you're chucking it from 35 feet -- nobody can guard that. But still, there's the level of competition in this video to consider. -

Very similar out here in Virginia. ... Bennett was 16-15 and 15-16 in his first two seasons and had some guys transfer out early during his tenure. The fans -- though not as crazy as ours -- were concerned. Look at where they are now. Yes, I know they haven't reached a Final Four and became the first 16 to lose to a 1 last season, but nobody in their right minds wouldn't trade our past 6-7 seasons for U.Va.'s. And I believe they will make it to a Final Four soon -- if not this season. And Bennett was about Archie's age when he took over that job. It took him time to implement his system. I have doubted Archie on more than one occasion, but I think if we let him see it though, we'll be in a good spot a few years down the road. And again, yes I know, we've been waiting for 30 years -- yada, yada, yada -- but nobody else was gonna come in here with the players we had and win 20-25 games a season these past two years. It just wasn't gonna happen. -
Do you have any intel on De'Ron? ... I ask because I've read that he and Green are tight and I wonder how Green's status would affect him. ... I'd love to have Davis back for another year. That Achilles injury really set him back and I think if he can go the rest of the season without further injury, he can use this offeason to get in really good shape (not sure what opportunities were there last offseason while recovering from that injury) and be a real solid contributor next season.

Having them gone is fine by me. I have to wonder: Have they never been coached, or yelled at throughout their entire basketball careers? ... Still don't see why Smith's dad would whine about the offense going through Romeo and Juwan. The kid can''t score. In the past couple games, I've seen him be 5 feet short on a 15-footer, 2 feet short on a 10 footer and 4 feet long on a 20-footer. He is a great athlete, but seems to have very limited basketball skills. ... As far as Green, I'm disappointed to read that. I HATE his mistakes and his one-handed passes, but on the surface (at least to me), it seemed like he was at least playing hard. I've seen way too many times where Smith makes a bad offensive play, then dogs it back down court and we give up a bunny that could've been prevented with some hustle. ... I thought at least Green was putting forth some effort. ... Sometimes, you have addition by subtraction.

I am chuckling this morning about how butt-hurt the PU fans are about the F-You chants to Haarms. ... For the record, I did not like the chant. I think we should be above that (I think we should be above a lot of things that we aren't, however). ... But when you cheer "IU sucks" before every game, regardless of whom you're playing, you've pretty much cornered the market on classless, and give up the right to be so pained. And it's not like similar chants like that have never happened in Mackey... I specifically recall watching the Music City Bowl in December. As PU kicked off, I could hear the fans chant "IU sucks" on my TV. You're playing Auburn in a bowl game, and you're worried about us? As much as I detest Purdue, I really didn't care who won -- until I heard that. Then, I was in Auburn's corner big-time. To see them get annihilated was very sweet. -

I actually thought Morgan boxed him out just fine. The dude is 7-foot-3 inches tall. He just made the play. If Haarms is 6-11, we're in overtime. -

Justin made a good decision to pass to JuMo. But let's face it, in that situation, the ball should never be in Justin's hands. You have to do whatever you can to get the ball to Romeo. -

TBH, I didn't think that was a foul. And it was a good box-out by JuMo. The dude is just 7-feet-3 inches tall. -

How fun would it be to see Kyle Guy in cream & crimson and Ryan Cline in gold & black trading 3s all night. Still kills me we didn't get him. (FYI, I live in Virginia and see him play all the time -- love his game). -

I just said the same thing. McBob and Justin cannot be in there at the same time. That Justin bucket notwithstanding, neither can score. -
