Especially with Rob's 2 fouls. ... Green might actually have to finish the half. Can't have his usual foolishness. -

OK, Rutgers had their little run. ... Let's hit the gas again and put our foot on their throats. -

I would think any all-time Crean IU team would have to include Priller. ... I mean, how many scholarship players spend four years on a team and total about 20 minutes of playing time? -

Don't want to jinx anything, but would love to see JuMo collect 28 points, 15 rebounds and leave to a standing O with about 2 minutes left and us up by 20. -

Loved JuMo on yet another putback, but sheesh, Al -- you gotta make that layup! -

(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
LamarCheeks replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Back in the day, I seem to recall they used to vote for Mr. BB before the tournament (otherwise, there's no way Roger Harden beats out Scott Skiles in 1982). Don't know if that's still the case -- I haven't lived in Indiana in 25 years -- and with with TJD's resume, it might not matter anyway. He might've already had it locked up. -
Just caught the end of the Auburn-Tennessee game. Seeing sweaty Bruce Pearl celebrating and carrying on just makes my skin crawl. As an assistant at Iowa, he loses Deon Thomas to Illinois, then records (maybe illegally) Thomas telling him he got an SUV and cash from the Illini. Sleazy, but hey, he got the Illini in trouble -- which is fine by me. But years later, he ends up at Tennessee -- and commits his own NCAA violations! Then while still under a show-cause penalty, he gets hired at Auburn, where he has an assistant who has been arranging payments for players. But of course, he knows nothing about that. Pearl reminds me a little of Kelvin Sampson. Both seem to be exceptional basketball coaches. But there's a huge slime factor involved.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

I agree. I'm a native Hoosier and IU alum, but live in Virginia now (so maybe I'm a little biased), and I love watching Kyle Guy play. In fact, the two teams I watch more than any others are IU and U.Va. I'm disappointed that he's not at IU, but from all I've read and have gotten here, that's probably more on Crean than it is on Guy. -

I am way, way too superstitious. It seems every time I pick us to win, we don't. And recently, when I've picked us to lose, we win. So here goes ... State University of New Jersey 69 Hoosiers 65 -
I hadn't heard of the Matt Painter/UCLA rumors, so I googled it. The first thing that popped up was PU's fan site "Hammer and Rails." ... It said UCLA had pretty good luck the last time it hired a Purdue guy. I chuckled. Don't they realize Sam Gilbert died a long time ago? PU fans seem to bury their heads in the sand almost as much as UCLA fans do when they realize their hero was the benefactor of players in Westwood getting cars, money, etc.

Can the Hoosiers go dancing?
LamarCheeks replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That was the thing that always flummoxed me about our former coach. ... For the longest time, Izzo was known for his teams' strong play in March, and Crean was his right-hand man for 4-5 years. Yet his teams always seemed to fade this time of year. I would think as a coach, you aim for two things (well, a lot of things, but these two for sure): 1) to be in a position in which March games matter; 2) to be playing your best ball in March, when presumably, those games matter.A couple of those seasons when we had no at-large hopes, I always thought we could maybe get hot in the B1G tourney, but we never did. -

It's been 12-plus hours, but I'm still trying to figure where the hell that came from last night (not that I'm complaining). I knew it had been a while, but did't realize it had been THAT much of a while: That was our first double-digit win since Dec. 22 (Jacksonville.). Our biggest B1G win had been the first Illinois game (eight points -- Jan. 3). -
Is McIntyre joking or what? The guy was caught on tape, very likely discussing an offer of money to a recruit, and college basketball needs him? Seriously?

Lots of problems with this ice cream, but two stand out: 1) The expiration date is mid-March; 2) Taste-testers thought it was OK, but nobody has it in their Final Four.

I'm curious if anybody knows the back story or has insight into our coaching search after Sampson was cut loose. I only know from what I've discovered on the internet. I've read that we made overtures to Tony Bennett, but according to what I've seen, he wasn't interested in coaching at a program that's as nuts as ours -- so to speak. He just wanted to coach and recruit, without having to put up with all the other B.S.(speaking engagements, over-the-top fan base, etc.) But I have to think the fact that we fired his sister didn't help matters. ... Anyway, the reason I bring this up is I've seen some Bennett-to-UCLA speculation. And if he didn't want all the B.S. that goes with a program like IU, I cannot imagine he would be interested in Westwood.

Even though it appears we're all resigned to the fact that Mr. Brooks will be heading to Lexington, I have a feeling these pages won't be quiet between now and March 15. My message, however, to the Mildcats: Beware the Ides of March!!!
