Obviously, this game isn't over yet, but TT has made terrible offensive decisions in this past minute.
-
Wonder how long Mooney was in the lane there ...
-
Wow!
-
U.Va. with some horrible possessions in the past 2-3 minutes. ... They let TT right back into it.
-
Ty Jerome drives hard to the bucket. All the sudden he stops, lets the defenders' momentum carry them away from him -- just a step or two -- and he pops an easy 10-12 footer. ... I'm hoping our guys are watching this. Maybe they can learn something. Because WE NEVER DID THIS. Our guys would continue to the basket and throw up a wild layup that had absolutely no chance, or they'd continue to the bucket and get stuffed.

Since Jake announced he was leaving, it's been pretty quiet on the transfer front ... Wonder when/if some other shoes will drop. -
I remember seeing something years ago that said all things equal -- as far as one guy taking five players and beating another guy's five players -- there were none better than Bob Knight and Al McGuire.
-
I heard that as well. I usually listen to the show as I'm walking my dog in the morning. Right before a commercial break, Patrick said a source told him Knight was planning to move back to Bloomington. I got the impression that Patrick was planning to come back to that topic, but he never did.

According to ESPN, UCLA now going after Rick Barnes.
-
When Jerome first lost the ball, I thought that was a double-dribble. ... No matter. ... Dirty, scuzzy, slimy Bruce Pearl goes home, and that's fine by me!
-
Pearl was well beyond half-court -- all the way onto the U.Va. side of the court. ... That's a T. I know they'd never call it in that situation, but still ...
-
Good for you!
-
Agreed ... The comment about Neil Reed was totally uncalled for and in horribly poor taste.

Man, I had already forgot about Creek. ... He was a good one. ... Thinking about that 2013 team with a healthy Creek -- almost brings a tear to the eye. LOL! -

I'm curious as to what you mean by this? ... Not doubting you at all, I'm just wondering what "the players have been told" means? ... I thought with Fred's "Bill of Rights," once an athlete was on scholarship, as long as he or she remained in good academic standing, etc., the scholarship was guaranteed for four years -- and he or she couldn't be forced to leave? ... Or is it a matter of Archie and the staff just saying, "Look, you don't fit into what we're trying to do. You can stay, but it's likely you won't see a minute of playing time the rest of your career." And that fella figures he'd rather play than ride the pine, so he decides to transfer? -
This is kinda sad to read. And boy, does it sure hit close to home. My dad passed from Alzheimer's -- it's been almost two years now -- and he had struggles very similar to this. We have a family reunion in central Indiana every year and one year, while I drove in from Virginia with my dog, my brother, mom and dad drove down from NW Indiana. When we all left, my dad rode back to NW Indiana with my dog and me. At one point, I looked in the back seat and said to my dog, "You doing OK, girl?" ... My dad said, "Oh, I forgot she was back there; she's so quiet. Such a good dog. ... I wish we had a dog." ... I said, "Dad, you do have a dog. You've had him for 4 years now." ... My dad said, "Oh yeah, that's right. See -- I forget this stuff. I'm so stupid about that." ... Luckily, it was dark -- I didn't want my dad to see that my eyes were getting moist. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/2019/04/04/iu-basketball-coach-bob-knight-witty-but-struggles-memory-speaking-appearance/3359396002/

Reading about his thumb injury makes me realize even more what a whiny fusspot Izzo is. I only ever heard mention of Romeo's' hand a couple times on TV and to be honest, never remember reading about it. And neither he nor Archie never brought it up. And both times we beat Sparty, Izzo started right up at the post-game presser, making excuses about injuries. I have a hard time imagining there was a team out there that dealt with more injuries than we did. On top of all the other crap that went on with Rob and Jerome and Devonte and De'Ron and Race and McBob, our best player had a torn ligament in his shooting hand most of the season -- and yet Archie never once used that as an excuse. I'm tossing any B1G loyalties out the window this weekend and I have three words for you: Go Red Raiders! -
Here he is on the Dan Patrick show (referenced above) talking about his fractured relationship with Knight. After listening to it, though, I'm still not sure what happened. He kinda talked a lot without saying much (in my opinion). One thing that's ironic, though: He said Knight promised him that he'd eventually be IU's head coach. My fear at the turn of the century (after Dakich left) was that Knight was gonna pull what he eventually did at Texas Tech. Had he outlasted the zero tolerance thing, I could see him, in about 2004 or '05, saying "OK, I'm stepping down. Pat's taking over." ... Man, that would've been ugly.

This had kinda been reported, but was made official today: Sampson staying at Houston, gets contract extension through 2024-25. I don't know his reasoning, but here's my guess: The guy is 63, he's been there for five seasons, they play in the AAC (easier than the SEC) and he's ready to make this his final stop. Why start over again at Arkansas? If he were 53, however, I bet he'd do it. (Plus, he didn't want to make that trip to B-town next season! LOL!) https://www.chron.com/sports/cougars/article/Source-UH-Kelvin-Sampson-reach-agreement-contract-13741236.php

It's probably not gonna change much at Jake's next stop, either ... I think his dad played for John Chaney at Temple, so he probably he thinks he knows everything about everything when it comes to hoops.
