IUBB vs Purdue - Sunday, 02.23.25 @ 1:30 on CBS

On both those FT sequences, Leal was smooth as silk on the first and long on the second. Maybe he should step back 3-4 inches for his second shots. LOL! -

Why on earth would the Amish boy throw the ball back toward our basket like that? I thought he was the smartest player in the country. -

Kyle Schwarber - Philadelphia Phillies

Schwarbs -- keepin' it real. Love it. He goes up and swings from the heels anyway -- so managers know exactly what they're getting. He's not gonna change his approach much whether he's batting first or fourth or eighth. -

Goodman pumping up Otzelberger in a video this week. Last week, I saw him on a YouTube video pimpin' Beard for the IU job. Wonder who it'll be next? Hard to put my finger on it, but I just don't care for that dude. I do think, however, his daughter does a pretty good job reporting on women's hoops. -

I absolutely hate reliving the chair toss, but ... Sunday's game will come on its 40th anniversary. Same place. Same opponent. Coincidence, or some stealth scheduling by CBS? Thinking they knew this and planned this, because for the past several years, we've played at home first, then at PU -- but this season, it's reversed. And how soon into the broadcast before it's mentioned? -
Negotiations ... Dolson: "What's the buyout on Doug's contract?" Green Bay AD: "It's $3.5 million." Dolson: "Not sure if that'll work." Green Bay AD: "OK -- we'll give you $5 million, but that's our final offer."

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES! BTW, this happened 45 years ago today. Greatest moment in U.S. sports history, IMO. The teams had played just before the Olympics -- the Soviets won 10-3, and it wasn't that close. This was on a Friday afternoon and wasn't even broadcast live. ABC aired it on a tape-delay. Still gives me goosebumps! Back then, there were three networks and a PBS channel -- and you needed a good antenna to get them. No cable (at least where I lived). No streaming. No hundreds of channels. Just three networks. Ah -- those were the days.

Robert Morris 94, Green Bay 85 The winning streak is snapped at 1. Everybody's favorite sports radio host moonlighting as a basketball coach is back on the schneid. The Phoenix fall to 3-25. Lunardi has them as one of his last four out.

SIAP Slick Rick says he hasn't been contacted about IU (TBH -- I wouldn't have expected us to), but offers a suggestion: Chris Beard. When I saw the story saying he offered his choice, I thought for sure it would be Richie Jr. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/rick-pitino-says-he-hasnt-been-contacted-about-iu-basketball-job-gives-his-top-pick-for-the-opening/?fbclid=IwY2xjawIl_yZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHcmBbouKOqXQUvFSvYJNZo-F4pJV2YpUlDyJWsRMSpQWbKWnVk6hztSZ_Q_aem_udF9H_KtWvHUHv0DlQ4Kig -

There are 24 hours in a day and seven days in a week -- and the B1G can't find two two-hour windows during that span that don't overlap for our basketball teams? Men tip off at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The women play at 2. -

Despite being asked often (or never), I haven't opined much on our coaching search. That's because frankly, I have no clue who might succeed here. Like most -- I'd be 100% on board with Stevens (long, long, long, long shot) or Dusty (long shot). I'll get accused (correctly) of recency bias after last night's brutal takedown of O$U in Columbus, but the more I think about it, I could really get behind a Chris Collins hire. He's not my top choice -- but I'd have no complaints. Granted, his record at NW isn't exactly stellar, but give him better NIL and significantly easier admission standards, and I think he'd do really well. He's smart -- that Duke education, you know -- and wouldn't have any issues with the "fishbowl" that is IU. I don't know if we have an interest, but I would think he might -- he can't win a natty at NW; he could in Bloomington. He's 50 on the button, so he should be good to go for at least 10 more years if he works out. -

I'm so disappointed I missed Kathy C's recent drive-by -- though I think it was all in the Woody is fired channel (although according to her, the plans to "retire" were completely of his volition). My process failed me.
