The only viable name here is Gates. Don't see him leaving Mizzou, however. Grant? He's a mid-major coach. Did well at VCU and is doing well at Dayton, but flamed out at Alabama. Plus, there are rumors that he's retiring after this season. As for Shrews -- that's a joke, right? There's absolutely no reason to think he's qualified to coach at IU. This counts him out.

Funny how the story says Chris Beard's name keeps popping up, but cites only Rick Pitino endorsing him and Rick Bozich speculating that he might be a candidate. From that, we go to "Indiana expected to pursue" Beard. Um, no. You cannot draw that conclusion from those two pieces of non-news.

I vote for the UNCW coach -- if only because it would be cool to have a coach named Takayo. I would think there's a good possibility of Odom to UVA. Kinda surprised Scherz only received an "honorable mention." He was a hot name last year. Then again, maybe that was only on this board.

All the negativity on this board SUCKS. Folks, I got news for ya: Arthur Schabinger is not walking through that door. Red McManus is not walking through that door.
