I can't remember the exact progression, but wasn't it something like: ranked in the 80s, jumped to ~50, and now top 25? There was definitely a steady climb after the summer sessions, iirc.

After completing his senior year of play this weekend, the five-star guard remains focused on a final three of Kansas, Vanderbilt, and Indiana. The talk has surrounded Langford waiting until April to decide, which should only help KU’s chances. Like most elite prospects that decide not to sign during the early period in November, they tend to wait until the spring to see who might be leaving and who might be staying regarding NBA decisions. Seeing that Vanderbilt and Indiana are likely to see no one leave early for the NBA Draft, Kansas is the remaining final suitor that could see early departures to the league. Kansas will lose Svi Mykhailiuk and Devonte Graham to graduation, and could also see Malik Newman and LaGerald Vick opt for the NBA. KU will enroll five-star guards Devon Dotson and Quentin Grimes, and will also see the eligibility lifted on transfer Charlie Moore. Indiana remains the program to beat with Vanderbilt not far behind, but with a decision that isn’t expected until April, the Jayhawks might just have enough in them to eke out another five-star commitment this spring.

Confusing timeline... “Ace guru source “I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around this, but one of the people I trust the most says Shaka to Louisville is 100% done.” I think that’s enough to make the call Shaka will be next head coach of the Louisville Cardinals” then, this one like 5 min later: “Not happening Mack to Louisville has been done for weeks, delay is only to give this Xavier team a shot to go deep and finish the season on a high note for everyone”

@CoachingChanges is reporting Shaka to Louisville. If you check their timeline, they’ve been days ahead on some of the other coaching announcements.

This game is being televised on WHMB/TV40. I have Spectrum and its channel 1022. Gillis would be a good Option B or C if we strike out on top targets. New Castle’s PG looks like he’ll be a good mid-major guard. I’m not sure what kind of interest he’s drawing, but 20+ ppg and has a great stroke.

2007-08 season... my roommate, brother and I just left the game against UConn and were trying to make it back to our apt in the Villas. I’m guessing it took 30 minutes from the time the final buzzer until we got back and into the car to go get beer. We’re driving out the back entrance of the Villas towards like 19th/Washington and we pass Jamarcus Ellis walking back there with a 18 pack of Bud Light. It was one of the most bizarre things I had seen considering Jamarcus beat us to the liquor store and back and he had just played a game haha.

I agree. His recruiting has kept him around, but got to think his seat is getting warm

Why would Dawkins contact Chuck Martin and Dwayne Stephens from MSU? Did he have a personal relationship with them, or previous dealings? If these two were seen as approachable by runners and agents, then it may be worthwhile to see who these two landed in previous years. My point is, I just don’t think a runner or agent is emailing every P5 asst coach looking to trade without some knowledge or idea that said asst coaches are approachable and willing to listen. There is some level of trust to be able to have these convos. This is me looking at it as a former agent myself...
