Post Game Discussion: South Florida 53 vs Indiana 70 | (2-2)

We should just come down and immediately jack a 3 on every possession. It couldn't possibly be any worse. If we had just made 2 of them we'd be right where we're at. -

We're on pace for 32 turnovers. Unbelievable. -

A very, very dumb team and I'm afraid that won't change until Crean's guys are gone. -

For you cliff jumpers, Roy Williams is a very good coach. A scum bag but a great coach. His first season at UNC he went .500 in conference and barely squeaked into the tourney as a bubble team. But get this, he had 3 top 10 recruits and burger boys in May, Felton, and McCants. They were all sophomores too. That would be like the equivalent of giving Archie Cody Zeller, Yogi, and Eric Gordon right away. As we all know though he doesn't have anywhere close to that talent. It takes time to implement a new system fellas. Be patient.

If you're gift wrapped a great roster like Mike Davis, Tubby, Weber, and Kevin Ollie were then yes. Otherwise it's highly unlikely. We'd be lucky to make the NIT this season with Crean as coach and the entire roster was recruited to play his system, not Archies. -

Also remember that we were an NIT team last season, lost our best 3 players, and have no impact recruits. -

You really need to go back and look at the records of some great coaches on Wikipedia...Izzo, Donovan, Roy, S. Miller, Matta, Marshall, etc. It usually wasn't until year 2 before they were decent and year 3 when they really got rolling. It's not easy implementing a new system. We'll be better next season and respectable at least. We'll be rolling in year 3. -

Got to defend the 3. Other than I'm pleased so far. -

I'm just hoping we can play them within single digits. Do that against a top 25 team on the road and we'll be capable of beating anyone at home outside of MSU and Duke of course. -
They're about to fire up the fire Cal threads over on Rupp Rafters. Just like they did last season before almost beating UNC to go to another FF. What a moonbat fan base.

I'm assuming he was tripped.

Honestly it now makes perfect sense that Archie offered Jake Forrester. He's long and athletic and will be able to get up and down the court and bounce with bigs like this. We really need TJD in 2019 too.
-
Priller will hold the fort down. We've been holding him out for 4 years just for a game like this.
-
It's gonna tough playing them in 2 weeks and we could be in for a long night. Reminds me of when we had Prichard, Watford, and Elston go up against Patterson, Cousins, and Orton. A big disparity up front.

(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
dbmhoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Yeah by all accounts Crean thought he had Kyrie locked up. Archie probably knew for a while though that Garland wasn't coming. -
I expect at least an NIT birth this season, a tourney birth next season, and contending for the B1G and a deep tourney run in year 3. I don't expect any major drop off once Archie gets going after that. Move that up one year if by some chance we land Romeo.

Down goes Vandy to mighty Belmont. -
(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Nope. By all accounts it's 50/50 with IU gaining. However, if MSU has the kind of year they're projected to have and we disappoint it will be close. -

We do have a big ace up our sleeve in this recruitment and that is Ed Schilling. -

Romeo is the much better recruit but much like Greg Oden he is a beta while Garland and Conley are alpha dogs. Unfortunately Romeo is likely going where Darius tells him to go and we know where that is. Hopefully Archie can win the salesman of the year award. -

We'll get TJD I'm confident. Brooks I'm not sure about. Our main competition is MSU and they could win the title this season or at least get to another FF. It will be hard for him to tell Izzo no if MSU is coming off another B1G title and FF and we're in the NIT or worse. -

He's been using IU as a ploy to get Romeo to Vandy as I've been saying all along. We were never under consideration and hopefully Archie learns from this. Reminds me of the Kyrie Irving recruitment in that we got played like a fiddle yet again.
