  1. Man, I remember that. We were close to Louisville as well and it did have to be perfectly aligned to pick up WTTV 4 because Louisville WAVE 3 would bleed over. What was also great was we could listen to Don calling the game on the radio and it was in synch with the TV signal instead of TV having a 10 second delay like things are now.
  2. Wow, loved Knight’s comments, this has to feel great to him like a vindication of his coaching years by having a player he is so close to fill his shoes.
  3. Well, look at the ages if our last two presidents (US). He could easily do this for 15 years if he stays healthy.
  4. So, basically we decided to bunt instead of going for the home run. But on some occasions the bunt that works out, hope this does too.
  5. Right, had a James Bond brain freeze there.
  6. This is based primarily on 0708 intel that said expect heavy denials. His intel is generally accurate, but the denial was so heavy even he gave up on Brad last Friday. But evidently all sources have gone dark since then, so we on the Brad train are wondering if maybe there’s a chance the last intel was right after all. Combine that with some other stuff posted about tomorrow and some of us are definitely in the “I want to believe “ camp like agent Moulder on x files. At any rate, SD is playing it closer to the vest than the cigarette smoking man.
  7. Sort of. There was a theory that Stevens committed to stay through the trade deadline, which was yesterday, and Beard has been out of the tournament for a week. It doesn’t seem logical to keep delaying if we’ve got our person. But who knows?
  8. If it’s Stevens or Beard I would think we’d know by tomorrow. Otherwise, the target has to be someone still in the tourney, with maybe Beilein and the IU guys as fallbacks if that doesn’t work.
  9. You’re probably right, but that warning was given when we were all expecting an announcement that he was hired. So far what the warning said was exactly what happened (within 2 hours after it was given.) The longer we go on with no leaks or word it makes me wonder, but like I said, you’re probably right
  10. Wasn’t the last thing we were told before the Masshole presser was to get ready for a wave of heavy denials, but not to lose heart?
  11. Calbert sure couldn’t help IU beat that zone in 2012 when he was on Crean’s staff.

    General Coach Candidate News

I think if we don’t hear anything by the weekend it’s probably not Woodson (thank God), probably someone who is still coaching or just finished .

    Ooooook who’s your # 2?

Shoot, maybe we should hire this Loyola guy...or maybe just recruit that 100+ year old nun of theirs to come and pray for us.

    Ooooook who’s your # 2?

I wasn’t big on Beilein at first, because of his age, but at this point there really isn’t anyone else that inspires my confidence. If he can give us 7 years and rebuild us to a destination job, maybe then there will be another home run hire that we can get for the long term. Right now, every other potential hire makes me very uncomfortable.
  18. I’m thinking about how disappointed a certain Midwest nba team in 1984 Was when their top two choices were drafted before they got to pick, and then their deal to trade away the player they ended up with fell through. No Sam Bowie playing for them, just stuck with a some guy named Michael Jordan. You never know...
  19. I can tell you I’ve been an iu fan for decades and a yearly small time donor for 30 years, but was ready to just hang it up and get out of the varsity club after Davis, Sampson, Crean and Miller. I’m more excited about IU right now than I have been since December 10, 2011–If Stevens is coming can we get Watford to make the announcement from just beyond the three point stripe, because this will be as exhilarating as that— this time we really Will Be Back!
  20. Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational basketball team!
  21. Well my niece got prom queen at new Albany last night! As I said before, she is friends with Romeo and a cheerleader for the team. the last thing she said to me about this was that he hasn't said anything to anybody, but that everyone in the student body thinks he's going to IU. Not sure if that's worth anything, but at least it gives me cause to hope.
  22. I think the key phrase in his dad's comment is "I don't know FOR SURE..." I think if Romeo was truly undecided he'd have just said, "I don't know..." After all, CAM could be arrested tomorrow as a Russian spy and that could change Romeo's mind, so dad can't know For Sure, but aside from that or a meteor destroying Bloomington before Monday, I think we can read between the lines that it's IU.
  23. Well, let's just hope the gym is so filled with IU fans in iu gear so if there is truly any doubt in romeo's mind he just sees the crowd and thinks, "I walked into the gym thinking K or V, but Seeing none of their support here, I guess I'll choose the Crimson hat."
  24. Well, like I said before my niece is a NA cheerleader and friends with Romeo. When we last talked about this six weeks or so ago she said he truly hadn't made up his mind yet. She had said before that she was pretty sure he was leaning to u of l before everything hit the fan there. I asked about if he had said anything about the other fib news that had come out back then and she said he said his dad didn't want him going anywhere there was any funny business going on. So hopefully this news today rules out Kansas.
