Reminds me of that calm, heavy, still, quiet air, right before a tornado.

I’d pitch in $5 if we want to raise money to encourage JerryYeagley to say something…I have a feeling he knows exactly what’s going on.

On SD calling a reporter and telling him, I agree it wouldn’t go down like that. But if a reporter uncovered certain clues and went to Dolson (a reporter who is an asset to the AD), he could say, “I’m going to be honest with you, but I’m asking you to hold this till ——-“. Kind of like Morgan Freeman did with that reporter in Deep Impact. on BS owning equity, he’d own it whether he’s an employee or not. They don’t take your stock back when you retire.

Scott Skiles…SCOTT Skiles…now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time…a long time. Why, I haven’t heard the name Scott Skiles since, oh, before you were born.

Okay, I know nothing, but I’m going out on a limb here. Just read Bozich’s most recent column. I’ve been reading Bozich since he was with the Louisville Courier Journal way back in the 80s. I’ve found him to be discreet, trustworthy, and an IU guy—which means he is kind of a company guy like Don Fischer who has been able to cover IU through the years and not tick administration or Bobby Knight off back in the day. In said column, He goes through all the names we’ve been discussing lately—(with no mention of BS). He gives all the positive and negatives of each—all well and good. Then he says he believes SD is gonna hire someone else, no one is talking about—not on the list he just gave. Okay, fine, some unknown guy? No—- he then describes this guy as a veteran coach looking for a new challenge to rebuild IU. Kent Sterling does a video and says the exact same thing. I know to take Bozich seriously and also know he is connected and values access and won’t cross the athletic department. In my mind, BS just went from a 1-2% likely to better than even odds. Here’s what I think. Reporters trusted by the AD know who the hire is—a small select number. And they’ve been asked to hold the story and just discuss other candidates until a set time—probably once senior day is done and the lights turned out in the Hall on Saturday. No more home games, no need to protect Woodson’s ego after that point. With the terrible risk of sounding like isaacTor, I guess—based on nothing but reading between the lines— that around 8 Saturday night Bozich and a handful of guys that are trusted in the AD will simultaneously start breaking stories about rumors of who this “veteran” coach is. I might be totally wrong, but I think “we got him.” Who else could this veteran guy be?

What’s gonna be wild us when Scott Dolson announces Billy Donovan as the next coach :-)
-
I’ve been wondering the same thing. We’ll soon find out, just like we did in football.
-
Do you think we already have the man, whoever it is, or that we’re still in pursuit of a target that hasn’t agreed yet?
-
In other words, just find us a coach!
-
It’s Mike Krzyzewski!

Yes, if things don’t start leaking the week of the Big Ten Tournament I will be ready to totally give up on BS— if we have our man, he has to start the moving process, assembling a staff, and his old job has to start replacing him—this can’t wait till the last second. At that point, so many will be involved that someone will leak.

So basically what you’re saying is that “there’s two kinds of dumb: someone who fires a coach, runs out in the snow and hires Brownwell, and the person who does the same thing in Assembly Hall. The first doesn’t matter much, but the second you kinda have to deal with.”

I was driving through Kentucky yesterday listening to pregame for pUKe on the radio, and their announcers claimed Pearl wanted the UK job last year but UK administration vetoed it. If that’s true, sounds like he’d be open to leaving Auburn for a basketball school. Never been a huge fan due to his issues, but he definitely wins and has some connections to the state of Indiana. If Stevens, Drew, Few, Wright, and Oates ( and May) don’t happen, I wouldn’t object to that hire. And I really think there’s a good chance we could get him, based on what those guys were saying.

It’s 3:00!

It’s actually at Boston, and on NBC instead of Fox. https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/tag/celtics-press-conference/

Yes, that’s a big reason why I think well we’ll be competitive now in recruiting. A lot of schools were already paying, now we get to legally!

If there is an announcement tomorrow at 3 on Fox Sports, I move this site be renamed “IsaacTor’s Btown Banners”

Well, first Friday with no gut punch news so far!

The big dog was a set up. RTZ is cooling his heels in a cell in a bunker under a non-descript building and won’t be released until Dolson says so.
-
I have to teach shortly and I’m sure RTZ will report in during that time and afterwards I’ll have to search back 20 pages to see what he said that got everyone worked up

For some reason, when I reopen this forum if my browser closed, the thread “Mike Woodson to be Indiana’s Coach “ from 4 years ago always pops up. The first few times this happened I almost had a panic attack.
-
So, is anyone going to the BTT? Last year in Indiana for a while. And does anyone know where the IU section will be located?

I remember the game against Illinois where Knight benched all our starters except for Blab. The CBS announcers kept saying “We expect him to put in the starters after the first tv time out…at tge 10 minute mark…to start the second half…he’s not playing them!” We lost but Blab did pretty well. Knight thought he was the only guy showing effort in the previous games.

What is the record length for a thread on this site?

If I knew for sure it was either Brad or Drew I’d sleep peacefully and stop obsessively checking this board.
