I know there was someone in their 30's that was playing football a few years back. We had a football player that served in the military. I thought he was 25. I can't see why it would matter when the clock would start for eligibility as long as you were a student in good standing.

I believe if you start college, you have a 6 year window to complete your eligibility. If you never started college, you would still be eligible.

I saw Preston play in high school for Evansville Central. Very cocky on the court. The type of player you end up hating by the end of the game. He was a pretty good high school player, but I never thought he would play D1 basketball. It looks like he is starting. I can't wait to see how he defends our guards. Don married my daughter's dance teacher. I would expect Don will be at the game. I sure wouldn't miss my kid playing in Assembly Hall! I am sure he is back in Evansville for the off-season. My seats are in section 2 next to the visitor's bench and the parents sit behind the players. I will see him if he is there. Might have to go say hi to Miss Lori.

We are already over-signed by 2. We would need 4 to leave or give up a scholarship to add Bryant and Lyle. Let's pretend 1 player goes to the NBA. What 3 wouldn't be coming back? Priller, April, Zeisloft, Hoetzel, Hartman? Hartman should be back. Zeisloft should come back. Hoetzel has a chance to be a good player. So, Priller, April, and who else would have to leave?

Let the classless Purdue and UK fans make those comments. He is still recovering. It MIGHT have been funny if it were a minor injury.

Is the sensitivity always an issue? He is so far ahead of where I feared he would be based on the initial reports. I don't think they were wrong in the seriousness of the injury. He seems to be bouncing back very quickly. It is a good sign that he is being released. I am sure he has limits on what he should do. If he is feeling well, it will be difficult to keep him quiet. Hopefully he can return to school for the second semester.

Prediction League Game 3 (Week 2) IU vs SMU (11/20/14)

Think we will win by 7. Also believe it will be high scoring, but we won't score 90. We likely start slow, but take a lead before half and our lead stays between 3 and 10. IU 84 SMU 77 -
I agree. He is in a rehab hospital for a reason. If we hear he is released from the hospital, he won't return straight to campus. I doubt he has been able to keep up with his classwork. The earliest I would think he might come back to Btown would be January. Even then it would be quick. I would expect he will have to have a clear CAT scan. Also, I would expect they have done a baseline screening for concussions. They do it for high school athletes. When he is cleared he could begin training. His type of injury can take a while to heal especially if there was any bleeding in his brain. I would not expect him to return to action for this season. I would expect him to sit on the bench at some point.

I can't remember hearing any racist comments from anyone in the crowd or on any of the boards. They would have been strongly rejected. He might have received some messages from nuts who would never say anything in person. I met him once in Orlando when my family was flying home. He was very nice to my young son and daughter. He didn't have to take the time to talk to them, but he did. I look forward to him being back. I hope he enjoys the trip. Everything but the game of course.

Hoetzel with 19 points and 9 rebounds and played PG at the end of the game. He was the biggest surprise against a really bad team.

Thanks. This isn't like an ACL tear or other injury that a student could keep up with by using tutors and other methods. I would think his recovery would make it difficult to concentrate for long periods of time. I am thinking back to the concussions I had and how they affected me for a short time. The important thing is he has made big improvement. I agree a red shirt decision is the best for him. That would eliminate a decision to bring him back too soon.

I love the day of the first game. It sucks that Don Fischer won't be doing the basketball game. If I had to choose, I would choose Don to do basketball over football broadcasts. Either way, I am looking forward to the game and getting through these next two games and getting back to an almost complete roster. I have really been looking forward to seeing Holt play. -
I don't see him coming back this year to play. Report I heard said his injury was serious. I wouldn't want him to risk a concussion or other injury so soon after an injury like this. I am sure he will be back on the bench at some point, but not tonight. He left his sister's game at halftime. It was good to see him out, but I hope they don't rush him into doing too much too soon. I am curious how his academics will be handled for eligibility. Did he have to withdraw and does that affect his standing? I would assume there is a method to get an NCAA waiver if it is a problem
