Jackal, I have been trying to prep the board for the inevitable this whole week. The Beard train is gaining major momentum each day. Those with previous concerns seem to be finding some grace within their hearts to open up to the idea of him leading the Hoosiers. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. What once seemed as a long shot, seemingly doesn't seem so long anymore.

As I stated last night… I see ‘Inside the Hall’ dropped this today as well. https://www.insidethehall.com/2025/03/04/indiana-basketball-coaching-search-profile-chris-beard/

IU brass is coming around to the idea of Chris Beard in Bloomington. Lots of conversations by his agents behind the scenes this past weekend, trying to prove that he is a new man. Not a done deal, but it’s trending toward at least a possibility. Don’t shoot the messenger!

He’s committed to the money that was promised to him by IU.

I would love if Brad Stevens were walking the sidelines next year in Assembly Hall. But let’s think about this. Brad Stevens, GM of the 18x NBA Champions, and defending Champions, Boston Celtics leaves to take the Head Coaching job at Indiana. A program that hasn’t reached a Final Four in 23 years and hasn’t won a NCAA title in 38 years… Listen, keep the Brad talk up. It doesn’t bother me one bit! I hope it happens!!! But let’s get real here. Yes, we are a blue blood, but I think we need to be a bit more realistic as to the state of our program. Do we have loads of NIL available? Yes. Do we a top 3 best fanbase? Yes. Do we have the potential to return to glory? Yes. We need a program builder. One who can invest 15-20 years. We have lost our identity ever since September, 2000. Let’s find it this hire…I hope he comes from Boston. But I wouldn’t hold my breath. TJ seems to be a looking more and more like a good fit.

In my opinion, here are the coaching replacement options, based on percentage. Purely opinion. Thoughts? 1. Brad Stevens 1% 2. Chris Beard 5% 3. Dusty May 40% 4. All other random coaches 54% -

And again, to all the true Indiana basketball fans out there, Mike Woodson is going to do everything possible to get this ball club over the hump. If we can get X a 7th year, I really think we can become successful in terms of competing for Big Ten titles & National titles. -

Mike Woodson will be the head ball coach at Indiana as long as Mike Woodson says Mike Woodson will remain coach. Mike Woodson has accomplished all that could be accomplished in the game of basketball by Mike Woodson. -

Why are we being chastised about how “mean” we all are? Everyone loves Woody! We just know that IU basketball has peaked under his leadership. It’s time to move on. -

Mike Woodson- "That locker room is really happy right now. Nobody likes to lose. I hate losing. There's a lot that comes with that, man. You've got to stay patient. We all forget.. these are 18 and 19 year old young men. We got that monkey off our back." With an average age of 21 among our scholarship players, I don’t believe we are “young”. Purdue has the same average age as us. Blaming the trajectory of the season on a 24-year-old in his sixth season of college, is crazy! We all know that if X doesn’t get hurt last year, he’s not even on the roster. Just coach! No one wants excuses, especially weak ones! -

I think you show young men grace and try to mold them. But at what point do you decide they “aren’t getting it”? I don’t know for sure this is the case with X. Only Woody does. The optics aren’t good. And unfortunately with social media, everything is magnified like never before.

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Here is a link to Jeff Rabjohns interview where he references Woody’s tendency to rely on 3 consultants opinions over his assistants. He’s got to get that fixed moving forward if we he wants to keep himself surrounded by high caliber assistant coaches. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-jeff-and-big-joe-show-podcast/id1213953865?i=1000554990673 -
Typical IU fan overreaction. This has been planned with Adidas for months & Adidas will announce it today. (Link) https://drive.google.com/file/d/14ALF8dJooWkZFwuCfW5ZHwKGvUMt51_w/view
