Boot - I meant his actions have never really shown that. I am not in the loop, I'm not a booster, but I understand college admin/booster relationships. The fact that he's not already heard the roar from them (as evidenced by his wanting to announce Crean will be back last night) led me to make that comment.

The fact that the original poster said he was planning to announce keeping Crean last night kind of suggests otherwise. It sounds like a last ditch attempt to intervene. Glass has never shown to be beholden to boosters. I am hoping the boosters can cause some kind of change of heart, but if I were a betting man, I wouldn't count on Crean being fired or leaving at this point.

My wife wants a change quickly because she's tired of me ignoring her and the kids while I scour btown banners, 247, and Twitter for tidbits of info on Crean/future coaches!

There may be 19 jobs but only a few (if any) would be willing to pony up for his $3M price tag that (based on what we've heard out of Missou) he feels he deserves. I would expect him to try and weather the storm at IU, making Glass fire him and pay the buy out, before taking a job at like George Washington.

I had the same thought the other day. Maybe as fans on the lunatic fringe we forget that we have a lot of boosters who send their checks "For the Glory" without much thought, and always will. I had a conversation with a booster the other day that said the voices of concern often have to become deafening before they are even heard, because the admin sees them as petulant problem children. They did say that the concern is as loud as it has been in years, since the Davis years, but they were not sure what the outcome may be. Maybe it will take a year like Mike Davis' last before something is done. Hopefully not, but that does seems more and more possible.

Not sure how connected Kent Sterling is, but he just told me on Twitter that Glass is a man of his word and has said he would evaluate after the season ends, and that only way we hear anything before then is if Crean leaves on his own. I would be shocked as well. The way we ended up with Crean (Bennett declined, Izzo gave Crean glowing recommendation, etc) it just goes to show we as fans have no clue what is percolating behind the scenes. Granted, Glass isn't Greenspan, but still feel like we'll be surprised with the hire. We could end up with a Mick Cronin, Scott Drew, or Richard Pitino. Not advocating these three at all, but history shows us that we rarely guess or hear what's really going on until the 59th minute of the 11th hour - if we hear at all.
