You think Kentucky fans wouldn’t be equally irate? IU fans aren’t any worse than those at other blueblood schools. The fanbase is a copout excuse for coaches who don’t have the confidence that they can do a good job.

Now go look where Kansas and Kentucky players live. Go look at UNC’s or even Nebraska’s players’ lounges and locker rooms. IU does not stick out in any way compared to a lot of programs.

As it should be. Kentucky didn’t settle for a mid major coach after firing Gillespie. Neither did UNC after firing Dougherty. Either IU wants to be a blueblood or not.

IU needs something to sell itself on. The on court success isn’t there so elite, top of the line facilities need to exist to draw recruits’ interest. But IU’s facilities are just middle of the pack. Go see what other schools have.

Archie will be coaching under a dark cloud if he stays two more years. He’s already made $10 million at IU. He can find another coaching job. Maybe he pulls a Mike Davis and resigns. -
Seriously, how do you turn a program that was one of the top five in college basketball into one that can’t even make the NCAA tournament? On purpose. IU basketball was intentionally sabotaged and undermined starting with Myles Brand and continuing with Michael McRobbie and several members of the BOT.

Yes, Archie had to ask for it. Should have been built years ago. Coaches wouldn’t even show recruits the locker room on their official visits.

Players’ lounge, post practice meals, adequate student athlete housing- basic stuff that any program not run by morons would have.

Archie lacks the institutional support and flexibility to compete on an even playing field. He had to ask repeatedly for basic things when he took the job.

You have to go higher up, to at least the AD and even the president and BOT. Archie would do better at a program with stronger institutional support.

I honestly don’t see how any recruit would want to come to IU. There are no selling points. No recent track record of success. Mediocre facilities. -

I mean, what more is there to say? It doesn’t get worse than this. The team is done mentally. More blowouts are coming. There is zero momentum with the program. Giving Archie another year won’t fix anything. -

Ok, so I will vent in here instead of the game thread. Allen is a terrible in game coach. Fred Glass knows nothing about sports and was in no position to make this hire without conducting a thorough search. And don’t get me started on Archie Miller. -
