It is obvious that IU is not a Top 10 team. They have one shooter--Miller Kopp. The rest are mediocre at best. After IU loses to Arizona and Kansas we will be lucky to be in the Top 20. And Woodson was out-coached. He only knows how to coach a pro style offense. And if the opponent--like Rutgers-- locks them into an old-fashioned college slow down offense they can't compete because of the lack of shooting.

Doesn't Galloway have to get healthy first before he stays healthy?

Tamar Bates has had one good game against a bad team. Against the one good team IU has played, he did not play particularly well. His improvement this season will likely be more gradual--good games mixed with not so good games. How well Bates plays against NC will largely depend upon who guards him. But after the last game, NC will be aware of his potential and likely guard him closely. With Jordan Geronimo it will depend upon matchups and their defensive scheme. If NC tries to double team TJD and Malik Reneau or he is otherwise left alone, Geronimo can wreck havoc. But he doesn't create his own shots much.

North Carolina is a very talented team that hasn't played well yet this season. But they are certainly capable of beating IU even at Assembly Hall. We'll see what happens but it is likely to be a close game in spite of their record.

I guess there's no reason now to storm the court on Wednesday after IU's victory over UNC.

There is something to be said for keeping the second unit together for the first substitution in the first half. Bates, Geronimo, Reneau, Hood-Schafino, and Galloway when he returns. Then keep playing whoever looks best.

Bates looked today like the player Woodson recruited. If he plays like this consistently he will be getting starter minutes consistently. Hood-Schafino has to work on his shot selection. Otherwise, his play is very good.

Hood-Schifno is not a good shooter and he shoots too much (0 for 5 including 0 for 2 from 3). And, he shoots too early in the possession.

And the circumstances. Few refs are going to call a technical for unsportsmanlike conduct at the end of a game. They make the call earlier in the game to establish control.

Unless you are on IU's coaching staff, Southside, you are going to be disappointed because there is nothing you and the others you include in "we" can do. It is clear that your thinking is not in tune with Coach Woodson's and I doubt you have the access to change his mind. The Coach is obviously quite comfortable with Miller Kopp in his current role.

Kopp is 4th on the team in scoring (9.3 points per game) behind TJD, Reneau, and Xavier Johnson. He is shooting 52.8% from 3-point range. Bates who is playing approximately the same amount of time (21.5 minutes per game for Kopp versus 20.8 minutes per game for Bates). Yet, Bates is averaging just 5.3 points per game and shooting just 30% from 3-point range. I'm not sure who you think should be filling "Kopp's empty minutes." I suggest Kopp's minutes are right about where they should be at this point in the season. In any event, I doubt there is anything you can do to "decrease Kopp's empty minutes."

IU isn't going to move into the top 10 unless they beat North Carolina (or maybe lose to them by 1 or 2 points).

Perimeter shooting while overall better so far this season (36.8%) is still questionable. Only Miller Kopp at 52.9% (9 for 17) and Xavier Johnson at 100% (3 for 3) are shooting well from 3-point range. It's only been four games. Galloway, who sat out Sunday with a knee injury, is 2 for 4 from 3 so far. But given his history it is hard to imagine he will continue to shoot anywhere near that average. After that there are Tamar Bates and Jalen Hood-Schifino shooting 30% from 3 (both 3 for 10). Usually the 3-point averages drop as the competition level rises. In short, there is nobody on this team who is currently demonstrating they could play instead of Kopp at his position and shoot 3 pointers near his level.
