(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

You mean they aren't happy that everyone trashes their coach? A guy with a senior heavy team. A guy on his second season and their team is dead last in the SEC. Hasn't won a road game. -

I'm honestly wonder what the feeling is among the IU coaching staff. Do they feel like they are in an uphill battle because of Garland? I also wonder if they feel played by the Garlands. I definitely get the sense that some of the local Indiana sports media feel this way. -

I really want it to be over. If he comes great if not I don't care. If he goes to Vanderbilt he drank the kool-aide. Good luck finishing middle of his conference and playing in the NIT. -

Indiana has to regain credibility with the younger generation of fans. Most kids now weren't alive when Indiana was great. All they know are old stories. Living in New Albany it's a harder sell with UofL and UK around. I get the feeling Romeo never grew up rooting for or caring about IU. That doesn't mean he isn't interested. I'm getting the feeling his family and his coaches want IU. He wants Vanderbilt but has been waivering some. It will really come down to whether his family and coaches will have enough sway. Also Indiana has to have one last meeting. I think that is really important. -

I kind of fear him announcing at the McDonald's game. If only because it may be awkward to announce IU with Garland there. But if it's Vandy won't be so awkward. If he decided to wait this could only favor IU. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

I also think even if Romeo was leaning toward Vandy he still wasn't 100 percent. He actually wanted to take his time and evaluate. If he was sure he would have committed rather than play games with people. And I can't image him or his family would like Darius and the Vanderbilt staff saying he's going to Vandy while he's taking his time. Assuming all those rumors are true I would think it would hurt Vandys chances. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

I find the whole Vandy crew to be obnoxious ever since Garland committed. I thought Garland led the media and IU on. And I feel the coaching staff at Vandy are just giant trolls. They are acting like they will be this future blue blood. It's not going to happen. At this point I really want this whole recruitment and the drama over. I feel like Colts GM Chris Ballard. "Are you in or you out"? We will be fine regardless. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

Also I don't believe Romeo would tell him he's going and not just commit already. I really do think he's taking his time. Darius isn't helping by acting like this. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

I really don't like this kids attitude. I don't like the way he runs his mouth and then tells people about another kids decision. It shows an utter lack of class. He literally said he would be mad if Romeo didn't come. I'm starting to think this kind of stuff is probably reinforcing why Romeos parents want him to go to IU. I live in New Albany and the narrative for a while was Vandy. But more people are saying Indiana now. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

I'm a NA resident it would mean a lot to me if he went to IU. If he doesn't I will definitely be bummed. But I'm still excited for Indiana's future. Archie will do great things. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

The vibe I get is he really wants to take his time to make a choice and I think he's really focused on NA winning a title. He seems really humble to me and doesn't like attention. He also seems like he appreciates good hard nosed basketball. Which is why him and his dad like Archie. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

The weird thing is that Garland seems to think they are closer friends than Langford seems to feel. Not that he doesn't consider him a friend. Just seems like a whole lot of Garland running his mouth. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

I curious if anyone with connections has heard about how Drew recruits? Does he negative recruit against us? I've heard the rumor he told reporters privately they are the leaders. Nothing confirmed but curious to know. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

The fact he doesn't even intend to go to a Vanderbilt game is curious as well. I heard people say they saw on the peegs board his family and the New Albany staff want him to go to IU. Hopefully this has helped us sway him. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

Haven't people heard that IU's staff is confident? I mean I assume he talks to both programs every day. That doesn't really tell us whose a favorite. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

If they are paid well enough sure. But even among those looking for buyers they look for one's that can win. Romeo to me doesn't appear to be one of those kids. Also I'm not saying Vandy is offering hand outs. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

I wouldn't like it if I knew I pushing someone out for privilege of playing on a dumpster fire of a team. For a mediocre coach. For a team where basically me and two other guys, assuming the other is healthy, have to carry the whole team. Where we won't even win our conference and won't win a title. They would make room but honestly player like Romeo want their spot open. Instead of pushing someone out. I can't see how that doesn't affect a kids decison. This isn't even a situation where someone would leave early for the NBA. Someone would be forced out. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

The vibe I get about how he views Archie Millers coaching seems like he is leaning more IU. Plus Vanderbilt is over signed. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

Vandy is garbage with a garbage coach. They are oversigned and are a Nike school and he plays Adidas AAU. Garland would be the only reason and to me it's not the deciding factor it's made out to be. He may still go to Vandy. But I feel like one has to do tremendous mental gymnastics to justify them over his other offers. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

The only person who has really pushed the package deal we are best friends is Garland. Romeo has never said they were a package deal. If just seems like the media has run with that since Romeo has looked at the same schools. It's really hard to know what Romeo thinks because he isn't one for the spot light. Garland seems to be the one who does most the talking. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

I believe he knows things we don't. He's well versed on his brothers tactics and did some coverage with the Perrea recruitment. It's possible he may have some distrust of Bryce for that reason. But something tells me he knows something. The whole Vanderbilt/Garland recruitment has been a bizarre fiasco. Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app -

That's my read. He is an IU fan. But I've never known or seen him make a dig at another program, just because he's simply worried IU may lose out on a recruit. It sounds like he knows or doesn't like how they approach recruiting. If the rumor is true that he has told reporters privately they are the leaders that's pretty unethical.
