  1. Unless they draw Muncie Burris or Yorktown but other than those two teams Blackford is screwed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

This should help a little depending on who Blackford gets matched up with.
  3. Correct and they are dropping to 2A next year. Also it is possible to drop teams but you have to pay a fee for breaking the contract and that might be something that Blackford isn’t willing to do. I wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t a couple changes to their schedule for best year though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. This kid reminds me of TJ Leaf except he doesn’t appear to have the jump shot unless he just doesn’t shoot very much because I haven’t seen it at all in his highlights. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. They are playing a varsity schedule but the school size isn't the reason for not being in a sectional. That would be because they either aren't a state association school or they haven't been a state association school for school for at least three years which I think is required to be in an IHSAA sectional.
  6. Blackford will be a 2A team next year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. I’m just guessing that Hoover knows they would get beat pretty badly since the rest of the team isn’t very good at all. I’m hoping that Blackford gets to play New Castle at some point in sectional so that Luke Brown will have a matchup with Luke Bumbalough who arguably might be playing the best basketball of any guard in the state right now. Random Archie/Basketball Talk

Well the coaches and programs in the Big Ten have always been known for scouting and game planning better than the other Power 5 conferences do. So that could be a part of it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    Random Archie/Basketball Talk

I do find it funny that none of the people with sources have really said much on this topic on any of the sites. That’s like the issue in the locker room after last game that nobody shared the details of they all just kept saying it wasn’t that big of an issue. Which I personally figured but I’d still like to know a little more about what is really going on. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. Yeah our defense wasn’t the best last night once our pg got two fouls we didn’t have anyone to laterally quick enough to keep up with him. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. What I’m saying is in the day and age of the one and done and kids transferring all the time it isn’t possible to have a system that takes 3 full years for players to learn. Now I could see it taking that long to implement everything he wants depending on how quickly guys adjust to his style which actually looks like it might take a little longer than three years the way things have regressed this year. If you don’t get this than I’m sorry but to take three years for guys to learn isn’t realistic at any level high school, college, or professional. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. I don't buy it. That is impossible to have that type of system in this day and age in college basketball. My guess is that is how long he thinks it would take to implement to see on court success but that's my guess.

  14. Sorry I think it’s less of a system issue and more of a basketball IQ, effort, and heart issue. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Adam Zagoria just tweeted that IU has offered Beverly.
  16. He play’s for Indiana Elite and yes he’s played and will be playing a few games against high school teams that have at least one college level talent on them although it might not be a D1 kid in all of those games. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. So I got to thinking what teams power 5 teams has IU beaten this year. So I looked and the answer is Marquette, Butler, Louisville, Penn State, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Illinois. I was curious as to what those teams had in common that allowed IU to play offense that was good enough to win those games so I went back and watched the highlights of those games and I realized something. That the four teams that I highlighted all play a variation of the pack line on defense. There are differences but the similarities are that there is always help side that is rim line, they try and take away baseline dribble drives, and typically there is help side in the gap when the ball is 1 or 2 passes away. So my theory is that our offense was better against those teams because that is the type of defense that the IU players practice against primarily on a daily basis so they are comfortable Also Ohio State and the second Northwestern game they also played a pack line or a variation but they made adjustments to slow down IU out of it. So after noticing this I have a few concerns about what the coaching staff is doing but I'll see what everyone else on here thinks.

What Defense has IU won against?

If the ball is in the corner you force back middle and don’t give up the baseline. If you are more one pass away you are in help. If you are on the ball and it is passed around the perimeter one spot then you jump and swipe at the ball. The one thing that I will say is some teams make adjustments out of it. If they know that a team struggles with turnovers they can apply better ball pressure and keep the rest of the principles or you can hard hedge if a team is good at dribble drives out of a pick and roll. This are just basic adjustments. The pack line is the primary principles but most teams make adjustments depending on the team they are playing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

    College Bball Thread

Virginia has done this with only getting 3 and 4 star recruits. Yes they have had a history of getting beat in the tournament. This year I think might possibly be little different with their balance of athleticism in Hunter to go with the shooting that Guy and Jerome bring unless they play Duke. 23. There has been a lot of pressure on Georgia players to stay home in recent recruiting cycles. Hagans was committed there before Fox got fired and then decommitted and now Edwards has decided to stay home.

    (2021) PF Curt Hopf

The only names I heard about included Franklin, TJD, Leal, Galloway, Furst, and Montgomery. Never heard anything about Hopf being in attendance.

    IU vs OSU 2/10/19

I think whether or not their suspensions or benchings will all depend on what really happened and how far it really escalated. If it was just a teammate confronting others about their effort and holding them accountable then good. If it was someone blaming the loss on others an things got physical that could be a problem that could linger for a while.
