Yeah this is nuts. I’m as excited for 2 years from now as I am for this season. What a great talent and attitude to bring in to this team.

It doesn’t make sense how glad I am to read this! That dude was a load.

I’ll run some stairs and shuttle sprints after the loss. I think WayneFleek’s 118-18 is pretty close. We’d only get the ball after they scored.

(2023) - PG Miro Little to Baylor
Stromboli replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
You have to respect his other two choices. Both great programs with obvious recent success. Without having had the chance to see him play, I like that I can rely on his offer/interest list to feel good about him. And obviously the interviews and shots of him smiling giving Race a high five at the game make me like the dude a lot. Gabe Cupps! We barely know the kid, and he’s this huge deal in Ohio and on Instagram. Now he’s out there helping us recruit other players to his position! I hope we land Little. And I can’t wait to see what our playing style becomes when we’re flush with high level combo guards. -

(2023) - PG Gabe Cupps to O$U via Indiana

From the game a couple days ago. Demo gave a better report on Cupps but this helps some. https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPdr97sa4/ https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPdr9WRgK/ Yes, obnoxious the guy never states Cupps has committed to Indiana. Several in the comments point it out. -

Um. As a better lawyer, we enjoin him from changing out of his suit. The suit being the status quo we seek to keep. It’s all in the wording. Then you forum shop to file in a court with an IU fan judge. Win the temporary injunction while the case is pending, and just rack up the billables for years. Follow me for more practice tips. -

Pretty crass. He and the mom seem thrilled about it.

Can’t imagine what he had to be upset about. Head scratcher. Love seeing CJ have himself a game. He’s been the forgotten man here, maybe I’ll get down to watch a LN game sometime. -

1. Ping I-2 irons. A Cleveland driver a buddy gave me because it’s “forgiving.” A Cleveland hybrid 3 rescue club. Pretty sure the putter is a Wilson. 2. I play with whatever balls I find in the woods while I’m looking for my ball. I did get gifted some CostCo balls once from a father-in-law that wanted better for his daughter. 3. Rescue club. Rescue club. Rescue club. 4. Maybe the real golf score is the friends we made along the way. 5. Kinda rude question tbh. I get my money’s worth 6. I prefer holes that dogleg right. Dramatically. Poor luck finding a pin location that aligns with my excellent tee shots. 7. I went to a bachelor party in Miami. The bell hop gave us a cigar that helped me time travel holes 3-16 at the Miami Beach Golf Club. Also beat the aforementioned father-in-law on a few holes at Kiawah. These are the memories that make me a wealthy soul.

Yeah. That last sentence is positioning. So if noncompliance comes out they can play the “he lied to us and we had no knowledge of wrongdoing” card. Aaaaand to editorialize a bit…. Nebraska getting the hammer isn’t justice. First off, my general take that when there is this much money involved, the talent deserves to get something resembling fair compensation. Second, as EVERYONE points out, they punish the worst team in the B1G while there is blatant noncompliance by the marquee programs. It’s silly. It does nothing to create a level playing field. Yeah sure it’s cheating, but this isn’t the kind of action that creates change. Because they don’t want change. No, I’m not saying anything groundbreaking here.

Yeah my one Boiler buddy was explaining to me last week how Purdue would go undefeated, explaining in the obnoxious way every single one does like it’s some math equation the rest of us can’t understand. I tried to tell him the B1G is tough, and that’s not a reasonable expectation. He wouldn’t hear it. I tried not to text him after the game. Tried.

People, I’d like to win this game. We’re either good or mediocre again. And to be good we’ve got to steal a few of these that could go either way. We are a little better on offense, and a little better on defense. So let’s keep the ball when we have it and let the game play out. As much as we talk about the bench, I’d like our starters to show out tonight, and not just X and Trayce. And yeah I’d like to see some fire in these guys, like it’s a fight they want to win.

Nebraska at Indiana Game Thread - Noon on BTN

The Lander DNP is going to dominate discussion at least until the next game, eh? I tend to agree that the hand-wringing would be far less if he didn’t have 5*, and wasn’t from Indiana. We’re rooting for him and want to see a player that can be a star. I’m reminded of the phrase, if you name two starting quarterbacks, then you really just don’t have a starting quarterback. Neither of those guys are making much impact on the outcome. Lander is much better than last year, and I get that the trajectory is an argument in his favor. Hard not to speculate that’s there’s something going on that we don’t know about. I agree with the poster that pointed out that the staff is aware of the risk that he may transfer. Jordan Geronimo is making a case that he needs more time on the bench. Haven’t seen those Oladipo comparisons in a while. There are some of you here who can talk Xs and Os better than me, but I don’t think this is the offense Woodson intended, mostly because there’s no way to leave Race on the bench. He just does too much, and as a result we’re mostly an interior based team again. If Bates keeps growing he may earn more of Kopp’s minutes and make us a little more dynamic. Not a huge win, but a great win. We handled it and can add on another W. -

2021/2022 Men’s Basketball Season
Stromboli replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I love analytics and I’m usually the guy arguing them over the eye test. But using team defense to discredit Rob’s defense over Khristian’s doesn’t work today. Otherwise, I agree there’s some unquantifiable value to playing/developing the younger, promising guard. We’re all really rooting for Khristian to become another plus player for us. Especially with X and Rob possibly done after this year. But what if Rob had made a pass at the end of 1st OT against Syracuse? In that game, he was the guy effective making the entry pass, and it may have translated to an important win. Aaaaanyway. It’s Xavier’s show this year. And Khristian is no guarantee next year—to stay or start—regardless, so I’d be inclined to pick the backup PG that gives the better chance this year to get wins. And my man. Woodson, Matta, Fife, etc absolutely deserve some benefit of the doubt. And yes more than Archie and Schilling. But I do appreciate not having blind faith. -
2021/2022 Men’s Basketball Season

Love the profile pic. Even announcing 2nd vs 3rd backup PG seems unnecessary to me but whatever. And stats or not, I can watch the action and tell you Rob is a better defender than KL. Rob can stop a drive by himself, KL gets targeted and requires help. That said KL is much, much better this year, to the point that it makes sense to give him minutes.
