Isn't it obvious? He's going on spring break. Won't be on campus.
-
Off topic... How does everyone feel about my new avatar pic?
-
I understand the negativity surrounding everything Crean, but getting Jordan Tucker to come to IU would still be a welcome addition of talent. Yes, we really need a high level guard right now. That's no reason to scoff at a talented young man that wants to be a Hoosier.
-
Maybe that is why Tremont Waters is leaving. Trying to avoid Crean!
-
If my math is correct, page 920 means we are somewhere around 91-93% of the way to our goal. Keep at it, boys!
-
If we get word Crean is staying I think we'll all put down the keyboard and go outside with a glass of lemonade. This is only exciting when we have a prospect of winning. If there's no change, I doubt we'll give as much attention to the issue. I just read the article. Doyel is just jumping on the bandwagon. The declined NIT game is maybe 1%, and really just a symptom of the fracture that already existed. If he couldn't see it, then that's his problem.

Anymore I see this stuff and my eyes just roll out of my head. I've fallen for too much "inside" information. Probably the worst was the "Plot Thickens" thread, where the entirety of the information provided was a smiley. Let's step back and pretend we are Crean's boss, not a fan of his basketball team. Has he performed commensurate with his contract? No. He makes more than all the other Indiana coaches, and does worse. He makes more than the other Big Ten coaches, and does worse. We're just not getting value. Let's exercise some patience, here. IU plays tomorrow, and possibly again thereafter. All of the coaches we're looking at are embroiled in coaching their own teams during the most important time of the season. That we're not getting anything groundbreaking right now is to be expected, and therefore not a reason to be losing our minds.

I don't know if that's true. He attended the IU-UNC game and I think he fell in love with the environment at Assembly Hall. I follow him on Instagram and he has been pro-IU for months. If we land a good coach, he could absolutely come still.

Just weighing in/doing my duty as a forum member to get this thing to 1K. We've noted some weird stuff going on. Giving up a home game? That's just unprecedented. Home court advantage is an asset we have. There is no way that Glass doesn't appreciate that giving up the home game has repercussions. In my opinion, he would not have taken such a step unless we are already in the realm of the extraordinary. Unfortunately, missing the NCAA tournament no longer qualifies as extraordinary. But an imminent coaching change sure would. I'm not celebrating any of this. The whole situation stinks. IU has become a punchline since the IPFW loss. Our players committed to the jersey, and they are spending their college days on this underperforming $#!+ show. We just wasted one of those rare years where you seemingly have the elements for a deep run. We have recruits and young players wondering what the heck is going on. And we have a fanbase that sees a disconnect between their expectations and those of the university. These next couple weeks/months will include a few coaching announcements, reports of which players are leaving, and really just a picture of what the Hoosiers will be next. In my estimation Fred Glass has taken his job seriously with a measured approach up until now. Because I view the current actions as extraordinary, I believe that Mr. Glass will continue to act consistent with his past actions. The evidence is there now that the measured approach means we replace the coach in an attempt to improve the success of the program. I'm rambling. I still hope we drop a 20 pt win on GT tomorrow. Go Hoosiers.

That's what I was after. Dang. Anyone see where IU plays? I must have missed them.
-
Has anyone noted that Butler, Witchita State, and UCLA all play in Indianapolis? Probably not a coincidence...
-
Glad I can help. In my haste I missed the opportunity to include Purdue in my post.
-
Why the **** would I do that?
-
There is a huge difference. In the case of Wilson, he was endangering his players. In the case of Marshall, he was protecting them.
-
Yeah. I'd go just to put a cap on this season. It's still hard for me to make sense of this season. I was so convinced we would be a monster team this year. How long until we have a mix like this of NBA talent, size, and shooting? What the heck even happened?

Yogi Ferrell - Buducnost VOLI Podgorica (Montonegro)
Stromboli replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Watching Yogi's success this year has really been a nice distraction from the Hoosiers' struggles. Despite living in Indiana my whole life, I never really connected with the Pacers. Since Yogi got his chance with Cuban and Dallas, I have become a legit Mavs fan. And man, Yogi just keeps up his good play. If I'm not mistaken, he looks like he's gotten better with his drives to the basket, and a little more creative with his passes. I think once these young players the Mavs are collecting start to gel, they will be really fun to watch. -
No we've decided 0708 is a hack. Billy D hype train is full speed ahead.
-
If the Billy D meeting even happened today, there is a chance that 0708 is being thrown off the scent by his source. Like maybe they realize he is posting stuff or may post stuff, so he was fed inaccurate information. And now Billy and Fred are signing contracts and smoking cigars and mixing martinis and toasting to Hoosier basketball. Ahhhh. That's better.

It's like when you buy a PowerBall ticket. The 2 days of hopes and dreams before the drawing are the real high. The letdown is expected. Seriously, Glass knows all about the importance of the basketball program. He knows it from plebs like us. And he knows it from mid-level boosters. And he knows it from the Simon-Skjodt level, too (I've heard things from a buddy of a buddy...)
-
I assume you're just talking things through. I think Bryant and OG will both leave. It was easy to choose to stay after the feel-good story last year. After this year, with losing streaks and grumpy fans, I can imagine it makes sense to go cash in. I'm sure they're looking at Yogi and thinking they can be next. I think JBJ will go make money somewhere. And honestly I worry about some of the freshmen, too. The program just doesn't have much sparkle.
-
Heeey off topic but I lived at 323 S Grant one year. About 04-05. Back on topic. What a weird season it's been. Five months ago I was convinced we were a top ten team.

Good work! I have to ask, is the Cook hangar tied to IU basketball directly? Or just Cook, Inc? Or owned by Cook, Inc and used occasionally for IU basketball purposes?
-
I was thinking a ghillie suit and some Depends. Some of you military guys chiming in, any recon pointers for Treesh?
-
Yeah. Could have been a different Billy Donovan, anyway. Will hold hope until this is confirmed him.
-
Until Treesh gets back to the airfield with some beef jerky and binoculars, we can't confirm what any of these flights may be. Possibly just Glass practicing due diligence.
