(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Maedhros replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not info. He's responded on Twitter that he thinks it's Indiana or Kansas. I'm not surprised to see him pick Kansas when given a choice, but at least he's not saying it's not Indiana. This is a good time to repeat: those making picks for Indiana aren't doing so based on info either. They have to leave their Louisville picks, and Indiana is a safe landing place at the moment. -

Chris Fisher seems to be one of the most active members of the Crystal Ball, so I'm not surprised he'd be among the first to update. I suspect his pick is less about Indiana and more about getting off of Louisville. -
Dumb. They're not de-committing to enroll at other schools. They're de-committing because they won't be eligible, and need to find a job overseas.

Oh, you mean Pick Ritino!

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Smells like when some were absolutely convinced Alford would be the next head coach at Indiana. Turned out all that smoke was blowing from one direction. Many a media person took that information at face value as well. -
Bruce Brown?

So he's using his platform to speculate wildly. Terrific work.

Merl Code, head of the Nike EYBL, was also arrested.

Reading his further tweets, the player involved is almost certainly Brian Bowen. -
(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
Maedhros replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Can you source this? I've been looking for that exact news on his Duke visit since the Evan Daniels post came out. I've also been looking for the same on his Kentucky visit ever since Quickley committed. -
(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU

If Archie's human victory cigar is a Top 150ish recruit with offers from Xavier, Miami, Minnesota, Providence and Pitt, we're in for quite a ride during the Miller era. -
(2018) SF Aaron Henry to Michigan State
Maedhros replied to goonaha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
That's the wrong question. Aaron Henry stopped considering us after Jerome Hunter and Damezi Anderson both committed. -

I'd guess Isaiah Stewart. -

2018 General Recruiting Thread

I like hearing that it's not a matter of "if" but of "when". Now I just want to know "when". :) -
Which is ironic, because his dad is still a child.

I don't get it. Why would that mean you should stop? -

If there are two Kyle Guys out there, I'll gladly take the one without the man bun. -
2018 Recruiting Class
Maedhros replied to HoosierAloha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This is a fair point. I'll admit to feeling pessimistic about Archie's recruiting, as I see other schools landing their targets and our targets going elsewhere. But I think even the guys who track recruiting professionally would agree that the 2018 class overall is committing awfully early. We're not even to the July evaluation period, and over a third of the top 100 kids are already off the board. That's likely why so many of us feel anxious, despite it being so early in the process. In years past, we typically haven't landed our first recruit until September. So, taking your advice, I'll try and wait for OV season before I start freaking out. -

Jerry picked Michigan, and only switched to UCLA after Michigan failed to even make Wilkes' final five. The blind squirrel found an acorn. -
2018 Recruiting Class
Maedhros replied to HoosierAloha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It's a brilliant marketing tool, and I'm sure it drives a ton of page views to 247. Everyone reads recruiting articles hoping to learn that a recruit will be coming to their school. The Crystal Ball cuts out all those words and gives readers exactly what they want. Unfortunately, divorcing the prediction from the article means you lose all context for the pick. A Crystal Ball doesn't tell you the confidence that writer has in his pick, nor does it tell you if the pick is based on actual information. As it turns out, most of them clearly are not. -
2018 Recruiting Class

This is ESPN's ranking of the top recruits in Indiana. Rob Phinisee must be from some other state. I don't understand why we aren't going hard after Musa Jollah, a four-star wing right there in Bloomington. He could be the biggest Indiana commit since Ivan Renko. -
(2017) C Mohamed Bamba to Texas

I knew Bamba had a good head on his shoulders when he told Kris Wilkes to commit to Indiana already. -
(2017) PG McKinley Wright to Colorado
Maedhros replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Committed to Colorado. So much for those Crystal Ball picks to Indiana. Jerry switched his pick to Colorado on Wednesday, the same day Wright started his visit. -
(2018) SF Musa Jallow to Ohio State
Maedhros replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Don't worry, Rob's Composite score isn't affected. He doesn't even have a profile on ESPN, so being unranked there isn't bringing down his ranking. If you visit Rob's profile on 247, his Composite score only shows three out of four pips filled in, which confirms that only his 247 (172), Scout (61) and Rivals (122) rankings are being factored.
