Chris Holtmann named Ohio State Head Coach
bigrod replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Slightly ironic that IU got their coach from a small school in Ohio, and they got theirs from a small school in Indiana. -

Somehow, I don't see Crean and the "Butler Way" as a fit. -
Minnesota a 4 seed???

Interesting that you have Hunter at 3. Have we even offered him yet? I do agree that there is a good chance he would come to IU if we offered. Other than that, I'd like to see Jallow and Swider a little higher. I'm not sure that they actually are, but I'd really like to get those two players. I also think Garland is more likely than Langford by a few spots, but either of those guys would be a huge win for the staff with their late start.

(2018) SF Musa Jallow to Ohio State

So, we have 6 scholly's available for that group of 12. 50% of that group would be nothing short of amazing, in my opinion. Anyone care to give their opinion of our chances with each of these guys? You know, since there's really nothing else to do at this time of the year. -

The crazy part is that the rule that we broke that was so terrible was done away with a year or two later. -
Seems like they are getting rid of the people that actually talk about sports. I'm the same - I don't even turn it on anymore unless there's a game I want to watch. It's like we are witnessing it consume itself.

Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

So that's 6 counting Gelon's if he doesn't fill it this year. I don't remember seeing the quote, but it seems that CAM doesn't like big classes either. -

I think so too, although, we do have 5 open already next year. I may be counting JBJ on that though, so at least 4. -

I agree, I just don't think there are any out there. -

This is exactly what I was wondering about. ...seems like the Walking Boot of Doom has been making his way to the Colts facility too! -

As long as it's channeled correctly. When the scouting reports say you can easily get under a player's skin and throw him off his game, that's a problem. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -

Apples and oranges. Failing and getting back up, dusting yourself off with a determination to succeed, and then actually succeeding is way different than coming in tenth place and talking about how tough you are. Hopefully he figures that out. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -

With reasoning like that, I'm thinking there may be another "blessing in disguise" involving TB and IU. -

Funny, when I read that I was wondering how he defined that term as well. I guess it's mentally tough to accept getting beat by teams with less talent. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -

Wait, all those guys had nice long careers and still played hard. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app -
I agree that would be great, but I don't see it happening. From what I've read, the IU game is always the most attended of the current two games by quite a lot. I think the attendance for any more teams could potentially dwindle even more, especially if they are on different days. Maybe if they made it into a tournament it might be different, but I doubt IU is interested in that.

I agree with this. I don't see us in the race for the B1G, but I don't think we'll be on the bubble either. Heck, maybe we actually have a good showing in the B1G tournament! That would be something new... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I'm sorry. I hope this kid falls flat on his face

Maybe it's just me, but I can't help but think of Joe Jackson when I see Lavar. (Not "Is She Really Going Out with Him" Joe Jackson, but Micheal's dad.) Both trying to control their kids' future and take full advantage of it. -

Just seems to me that he's putting an awful lot of pressure on his son(s). I think there will be a lot of resentment toward them. Seems silly to have your own shoe at a point in your career when you haven't really accomplished anything. I don't really wish them any ill will. If he can sell his shoes for $500, more power to him. I personally won't be purchasing any, but to each his own. -
Wouldn't surprise me if it happens at nearly every practice.

I was listening to a podcast (maybe Peegs) and Peegs made the statement that JBJ was 50/50 on leaving right now because the Blackmon's have been very impressed with CAM and feel that JBJ has already shown a lot of improvement from him.

I don't think anyone is dancing on his grave. I think we're all just tired of his excuses. At some point, he needs to stop talking and take a good look in the mirror. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app

Really not hard to understand his inflated ego when you see that.
