(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Great news. My boss agreed with me that Romeo's announcement was way to important to miss, so I will be there. Day has been made. -

Idk why people took it as a bad thing regardless. All a visit at this point would have done was reassure Romeo no FBI findings and that his decision was the right one, so his mind was already made up on Kansas and all it did was make it solid. It would mean a lot more negative things for Kansas IMHO. Romeo telling Self they were out and he made one last attempt, the Langford's were seriously worried about the FBI thing which isn't going to just go away so what could Self really say? I just find it funny a month ago we were 100% getting the last visit but people still assumed it wasn't us, but since it's Kansas it means it would be over and it's them? I know this recruitment has been long and stressful, but I just think Romeo has his mind up by now and nothing will change it unless something drastic happens. It's late April, every school knows what their roster is going to look like or a great idea of it. Vandy taking Moyer kind of gave me a sign that they know they're out unless I'm not counting someone towards their scholly situation. -

Kansas "insiders" are misinformed. Self tried getting in another visit from what I heard, but Tim told him no per Romeo's request that is well known now. Apparently someone in the Langford camp said that Tim was telling Romeo if he wasn't sure he needed to talk to with ALL 3 not just one so he didn't jump to conclusions off one visit. So if all 3 visited without ANYONE knowing then that is impressive. Not saying Self didn't but it isn't likely and if he did then so did Archie & Bryce. Maybe they facetimed or something who knows haha. Calm down people it's not even a big deal anymore. BTW 8 days, 18 hours, 51 minutes & 32 seconds away from finding out where Romeo will go lol. -

Let's save that until he announces. If he does decide elsewhere, Romeo never asked for any of this. In fact he has spent more than enough time signing autographs & taking pictures with fans that suggest his brand isn't the only thing that mattered if he didn't choose IU. He'd be crazy not to honestly. The next year is going to be when he gains all his loyal fans to add to the ones he has now to battle on twitter with other players fans lol. That was a joke obviously. -

You're not wrong there. Over and over his brand is what ends up getting brought up though and the moves they have done have only made things stronger in that department. In the end, I believe IU fans will reap the benefits. I don't do percentages or nothing though just my opinion regardless of what I'm told or I hear. 12 more days everyone!! THANK GOD -

So much points to IU it's hard to think otherwise, but I do know the Langford family is smart. They've always knew they had Indiana in their back pocket and now they are using that relationship and holding out until more and more national attention decides to talk about it. Honestly in terms of branding, they have played this better than any recruit in a long time. Not many had the attention that he has drawn to do it and that plays a part, but it's still an A+ effort I will say that. -
(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Brooks is too hard to read for me. Went to a practice & talked to his family a bit last fall & they said they wanted to wait till after the season and then things changed. Now it sounds like he will do it whenever he feels comfortable which could be at anytime. Honestly I could've put him anywhere from 3 to 6. I think we could see a few pop in the same month or two span. Once the Romeo domino falls as well as we find out what TJD & Trendon's plans are regarding class, then the rest of our targets get a better sense of things. To think just a few months ago people assumed Trendon wasn't an option anymore. His family was always going to keep us at least in it till a top 5 or whatever. 2 visits back to back suggest we may actually be the leader now, but Bama is a strong possibility. -
(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Isaiah Stewart, Trendon Watford, Keion Brooks, Trayce Jackson Davis, D.J Carton & Matthew Hurt. All either 5 stars or top 50 players in every service and IU is in great shape with all of them. Obviously we can't take them all nor do I want to act like it's our choice, but Archie WILL get at the very least one of these guys and that alone will be awesome. From conversations & personal opinions my order of readiness to pop would be: 1. Trayce 2. Trendon 3. D.J 4. Brooks 5. Stewart 6. Hurt -

I just said this EXACT thing on twitter lol. Archie has a plan for every scenario. Porter is still a slight possibility as well. Once the Romeo situation is over we will find out fairly quickly about what we're going to look like next season. I'd say at the latest by mid June. Trust me there will be more transfers around the country & maybe even us. -

According to Jerry Meyer in an article with a Kansas writer, Romeo to IU is a 'done deal'. Can't link for some reason and I'm sure others have shared, but thought I'd post in just in case. -

Highly doubtful. The school has been working hard to get everything together for the 30th now. There is enough time in between I guess to change, but I reached out to a New Albany rep when I saw the news and they said "not a chance". Could still happen though I guess. -
Thank you!! I tried sending as many as I could, but like I stated on the Romeo thread and Wayne just said it wasn't anything crazy. Just confirming some rumors, but that's all they are right now is rumors. I didn't expect things to blow up like that lol.

I actually have said the same thing. Idk how Juwan and him fit but I'm sure Archie would figure it out. I like the idea of him coming in '19 if we lose Romeo POTENTIALLY and Juwan. I would not complain one bit though lol. -

Just to clarify. It isn't ground breaking news or anything. I just don't like posting things publicly that were told in private. If someone is open to it or the prospect/source doesn't mind then I have no problem with it. Even if they tell me what their favorite color is lol so it's not that deep. -

TJD would be my guess if anyone reclassifies. As I said around semi state, TJD really wants to play with Romeo. The grad options at guard were backup plans, but sounds like Archie is confident in landing Romeo. Mooney & Taylor both felt like they wouldn't see the role that they had hoped for. Mooney more so. I really hope people don't think we end up as the "default" option for Romeo IF we land him. Archie has done a great job making progress with him and has made us a very legit contender. He deserves a ton of credit. U of L and maybe now Kansas did this to themselves. -

Hearing the latest Romeo would announce is April 26th. That is the day of New Albany's awards banquet. I know no one wants to wait that long, but after the Summit on the 13th we should have an exact date shortly after. Just passing along as something I've heard. Supposedly Coach Shannon has told people he feels good about IU getting Romeo as many have probably heard by now. I don't believe that. Best news is, sounds like Archie is planning to have Romeo around when it comes to grad targets. He's been very upfront after talking with Mooney & hearing why Ryan Taylor decided on Northwestern and he's backed off the juco guys though I'm not sure they were ever a strong option. Andrew Slater pick was huge and he usually doesn't switch around too much so for him to pick today says a lot knowing not much should change, but crazier things have happened so we'll see. Paps news is good news as well. I'm hard pressed to get too optimistic regardless of what I hear so anything I've heard I kind of shrug off, but there have been a lot of positives FWIW. Vandy fans have to be sweating regardless. -

I didn't ask him that specifically but I asked if any other targets could impact his choice. He said that was the purpose of the sit down this week. -

I spoke with Matt Mooney if you guys haven't seen my post on Twitter, he said Archie & Ostrom came to see him yesterday & he likes the fit for him at IU. Will sit down this week & decide next steps
