    IUMS @ Rutgers - Sunday, 10/9/22 @ Noon

Both teams have put more men behind the ball to start the second half to try to prevent easy runs into box and point blank shots.

    IUMS @ Rutgers - Sunday, 10/9/22 @ Noon

I wish more people on this board played and coached soccer like I have in past. The defense has struggled but its certainly not as simple as the Hoosier D just flat out not showing up as some of you think. Rutgers plays a style that is much more ACC like and not Big Ten defensive like at all. They have speedy forwards who are very fast and beating IU down for shots. This way of playing has to be extremely frustrating for other Big Ten teams and is much like the Clemson match. Goals are easy to come by. IU has more talent and speed if they can make halftime adjustments but the Scarlet Knights attack is formidable and their defense awful. Maryland had same issue with Rutgers (and Terps D is certainly as good if not better than IU's) before edging them out on talent late in last match 3-2.

    IUMS vs Notre Dame - 10/5/22 @ 7:00 on BTN+

Having Munie back tonight was huge. Team looks much more comfortable and confident on D when he is in there. Best game since Akron by the team and that was last time Munie played before the injury. Team has the talent to make a deep run but need Munie to do it.

    IUMS @ Michigan - 10/02/22 @ 4:00 on BTN

Key word is through 90 minutes. Its a confusing tweet but two of those three saw someone find a winner in overtime. With overtime gone it now ends in a tie after 90 minutes. Nothing written is wrong per se just not written as clear as it needs to be but indeed it was the fourth straight IU UM game to end in a tie after the full 90. However, before today all of those went to overtime and two of them produced a winner.

    IUMS @ Michigan - 10/02/22 @ 4:00 on BTN

Not sure where you came up with this being fourth straight tie against UM when IU lost 2-1 at home to them last year. As a matter of fact they have only twice tied the Wolverines in the last 15 years before today: https://iuhoosiers.com/sports/msoc/opponent-history/michigan/18 As for the game extremely fortunate to get out of that with a tie. For some reason the team has come out sluggish in both their Big Ten road games. Brutal schedule ahead but IU has been at its best this year when facing top competition and don't lack for talent. Its when they face lesser opponents they seem to come out slow this season.
  6. I think the issue is more they play to their competition. When they have played top competition they have looked like a fellow top team. However, they have also played down to lesser teams as well. Also, they are really missing their top defender and captain Daniel Munie who has missed the last few games with a hamstring injury.
  7. That was easily IU’s worst match of the season. I know they have lost twice but that was to teams who will compete for a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. This MSU team has played really badly and its a game you need to win. Period. This year may turn into 2014 again with a middle of pack Big Ten finish and barely over .500 record but a really good NCAA tourney seed with lots of good wins and a very hard schedule.

    IUWBB - News and Notes

There will be. That is announced separately as part of Tennessee's and SEC's TV schedule release which has not happened yet.

    IU Women's Soccer

PSU is the annual top dog in the Big Ten and always top 10 nationally while Trine is DIII. That's the obvious reason. The team still has maybe its best defense and worst offense in program history.
  10. OSU has pulled an IU basketball 2010-2011 to 2011-2012 turnaround in soccer this season and will compete for Big Ten Title. They are legit good and punched the Hoosiers in the mouth and it took IU a while to respond. IU just played their toughest three game stretch of the season and their last tough road game of the season with Munie still out. Ugly day but schedule loosens up significantly next couple games and all the rest of the top competition is at home.
  11. Easy. IU is behind the times and charges the same roughly $55 for ANY main level seat if they have a few left over tickets (which they do every once in a while) whether the game is against UNC or Moorhead State. Past thinking like this is why the program has struggled. Its not a big deal but its a small part of the trend of why we don't keep up with the times and don't always compete with other elite teams. Every single other team in the country (including IU Football) charges based on the opponent and seat location. IU does not (other than charging less for balcony than main level).
  12. Harms is a better goalie anyways. Would rather he starts even when Pratt is healthy.
  13. Sounds like all the injured are going to be fine. Great night.
  14. What a result! Tonight the team looked National Championship caliber against an Akron team who is also of similar level good. Defense was superb tonight and IU dominated in all aspects. 2-0 final and 19-4 in shots. Hoosiers Punched the Zips in the mouth and never let them off the floor
  15. IU still leads 2-0 and playing great but the bodies piling up as Munie, Henderlong, and Sessock all hurt. All non contact and nothing dirty from Akron. All maybe hamstrings?
  16. IU 2-0 at half. Easily best IU has looked in several yrs against an elite team. Keep it up!
  17. Harms is the better goalie anyways in my mind.

    IUMS vs St. John's - 09/06/22 @ 8:00 on B1G+

Mihalic's goal was a beauty and a bicycle kick.

    IUMS vs St. John's - 09/06/22 @ 8:00 on B1G+

Well St. John's plays a defensive style as oppose to the attacking style Clemson and Portland do so its 0-0 at half with few opportunities for the Johnie's and only slightly more for IU. Complete opposite of the frantic pace of first two matches and it has everything to do with the difference in how Red Storm play.

    IUMS vs St. John's - 09/06/22 @ 8:00 on B1G+

Yup. A stationary front over Kentucky and Tennessee is firing up showers and storms everyday and along the Ohio River it's pretty much afternoon storms until it moves out. Bloomington is on the fringe of it and has gotten a few pop up storms but has remained mostly dry except for Saturday when it poured hence why the ND match was canceled. Rest of week looks decent in Btown but still have the small threat of the pop up storms for now but much less than Evansville and the Ohio River. Should be good to go for St. John's and Akron match unless an unexpected storm pops up. I am not a weather man BTW. Just repeating what I read. LOL

    IUMS vs St. John's - 09/06/22 @ 8:00 on B1G+

Weather looks much better for tomorrow and rain has been minimal since Saturday. If field can't be played on after three relatively dry days than the team will probably need to find an alternate venue for the rest of the season.

    IUMS vs Portland - Tues. 08/30/22 @ 8:00

There was one problem tonight and one problem only. Bryant Pratt the goalie. Offense was very good and defense only allowed five shots. Problem was Pratt was completely out of position and should of saved two of them. You should always be able to count on your goalie to make 1-2 nice saves a game and Pratt not only made none but conceded two soft goals that could of been stopped. IU needs to ride JT Harms full time who has looked like the better goalie since spring and has allowed no soft goals and made several nice saves. I rarely am critical of Yeagley but switching goalies tonight cost them the draw. Harms starts and you likely win 3-1 or at very worst 3-2. IU has all the tools to be great and as long as they stick with Harms it will be a good season. You go with Pratt season could be dicey.
  23. Anyone who is mad about tonight's game is just a critical person. IU actually looked far better and more competitive than they did early last season against a top team. IU looked horrible in their 3-2 win to open at ND last year and somehow got the victory, while tonight they looked good but lost an all out war they fought battle for battle and shot for shot. The defense actually looked much cleaner tonight than early last year and there were no bad mistakes and nothing that could be done about the goals. This effort will beat any other team on IU's schedule as the rest of the top teams are all at home. Bring this energy and play every night and this will be a great season. Tonight had the feel of a College Cup match and both teams may face off there again in December in North Carolina.
  24. You forgot to post game is at 7pm and televised live on ESPNU! I figured I would add that for people who don't click article.
  25. I have already said many times on here I am fairly confident BTN+ is not going away. You will need everything you have now and Peacock as well.
