Also I have not seen anyone bring this up and I feel this is most important is so far he has followed his Brother Sean in every way. Both had jobs at mid majors in Ohio (yes I know Xavier is now a power 6 but they were not when Sean was there) where they took teams to elite 8's and dominated their league once they got it going. Both stayed several years and held out for elite jobs. Since Sean took his spot at Zona he has stepped it up to elite results in Pac 12 (some will argue since he has not been to a Final 4 its been underachieving but I disagree) and if Archie can step it up like Sean has when he took the elite job we are in for a fun next 10 years. I will gladly take similar results to what Sean has had for Archie. All we need is for Archie to continue to follow Sean as he has had so far and I think there is a good chance of that.

People are nuts. This is a great hire assuming Donovan said no. Having attended the Dayton Wichita St game I can tell you Dayton played better D in that game than any game I have watched Crean coach in 9 yrs. Both teams were so under-seeded and it was unfair they played in 1st rd and both teams looked amazingly disciplined. I am so happy to shove it in the stupid Dayton fans face next to me who loved Archie and was so arrogant and said we would never get him. Well we've got him now. Dayton fans on their message boards are in mourning over losing him which is a very good sign Marquette considering message boards were kind of happy to see Crean go when he left them for IU 9 yrs ago.

MORE HUGE NO ALFORD TO IU NEWS: Alford's Agent just confirmed to Rabjohns that Alford will not be taking IU job.
-
ESPN has egg on its face right now with the way it has reported Alford being a done deal. They deserve it.
-
Based on what we heard last night from Clavio it sounds like IU turned him away and is not interested on their end a lot more than his. Alford making it sound like his decision with this statement instead of IU's which is smart PR on his part and I don't blame him. Either way all well that ends well if we don't get him regardless of if it was IU or Alford's decision to close the book.
-
Alford just denied he wanted IU job even stronger to espn
-
I'm happy with any of them
-
I agree. We always reach for extremes in either happiness or sadness in society. In this case Donovan is extreme happiness and Alford extreme sadness. Generally truth is somewhere in between and I think that is where we are headed with either Bennett, Mack or one of the Millers.
-
Alford sort of denies interest in IU job in presser post game and says he is happy at UCLA. God I hope he is telling the truth!
-
And he knows this how? I hate when ESPN pretends to be in know when they know zero. If it sells accuracy doesn't matter. Very consistent in society today across all media.
-
If this game doesn't prove to stay away from Alford our administration is just plain stupid. Team plays no D and offense disorganized. Nervous 48 hours. Hope Clavio is right more than ever.
-
Our Janitor just tweeted out "Here we go..prepare for nothing" with some kind of laughing emoji after.
-
I predict in end it is Bennett or one of the Miller's. Always looks where the wind is the quietest but most realistic. Just to be clear this is my opinion not fact.
-
This could be where the search firm comes in. Could be Donovan talked to them but not to Indiana directly.
-
Albers won't give it up. Still saying Donovan was here.
-
Well Albers officially has lost every last ounce of credibility he had. OKC media guy just tweeted out that Donovan has been in OKC all day with a photo. As I've said anything Albers said go opposite:
-
I am watching a commercial for a weed eating product right now during the games. Is there any chance that stuff works on Justin Albers since he is like an annoying weed? LOL
-
IU will be thrilled with their secret keeping ability if only Albers tweets it. Maybe Glass or someone close to him fed this to Albers directly knowing no one would believe him and question the tweet. This way it is out there but stays unconfirmed. I don't believe this for one second but as good a theory as Albers actually being right for once.
-
No I think he got that one right just like everyone. Just said Alford was interested in job which appears to be true. Doesn't mean we hire him.
-
His rep was done before this. The fact that he says he's media and we all question his reports tells me all I need to know. I literally have never questioned a story like this from any other IU media but Albers.
-
Has anyone noticed when other IU media breaks a story like this the others quickly follow and attribute it to them. With Albers they don't cite him and just ignore everything he posts. This tells me all I need to know.
-
Yes he can and I would not doubt it
-
I really hope Albers is the blind squirrel who has finally found a nut this time (which would be appropriate since he is nuts as a person) but when that blind squirrel has run around nut-less for so long it is hard to believe him
-
Albers is a leach pretending to be media sometimes. I am fully convinced of that.
-
I wouldn't doubt that
