  1. God everyone missing home runs by inches right now.
  2. We agree. This is the time we criticize Lemonis for poor execution with swing decision. Also Dedelow as usual swings for fences and just misses but sac fly. In end we got 3 though which is solid.
  3. 3-0 he should not of swung. We got the run but force him to throw a strike without conceding the out. That's definitely a take 2 pitches no matter what.
  4. Terribly impatient in 1st inning. Had pitcher down and let him off hook with double play ball on 2-1 pitch.
  5. Guess we are visitors as apparently they apply a different procedure than Regionals (team that was home first time is visitors second time is first tiebreaker). We face their awful 3rd starter. Lets do this.
  6. Iowa wins so huge opportunity. 6:05 start for us roughly.
  7. Will be home tonight I think (based on fact we were road team vs Minny 1st time which I believe is 1st tiebreaker) than if we win visitors tomorrow morning and home if we win again. Also if Iowa holds on to beat Nebraska huge opportunity for us if we win tonight as Iowa has burned through their 2 good pitchers and has had a huge problem finding a solid third starter so whoever we face will be as bad as Hobby or Saalfrank. Nebraska on other hand has a decent no. 3 and is a better team so we would be at bigger disadvantage. Tonight for Minny they have either a guy similar to Kruger who has been a decent spot starter/long reliever or their number 3 who has been absolutely terrible. Minny outside of Gilbreath who we faced in 1st game and their closer has had awful pitching issues this year. Game will start at 6 or a bit after depending on how much longer this game takes (and than 45 min break).
  8. Push our game back to at least 6pm because NW and Minny not quite done and its 45 min between games so assuming next game starts around 2:15pm than goes 3 hours than that's 5:15pm and 45 minutes is 6pm. Either way primetime Friday slot after work. Should finally have huge crowd but I still cannot go till tomorrow if we win but will definitely be watching now!!!
  9. Officially just dropped for 5pm. Should finally give us a fairly full stadium since most people around town can be done with work and there. Huge home field advantage help. Also much better for me as I am done with work. Will go Saturday if we win but still not enough time to get to Btown tomorrow (baring a huge delay) as I finish work about 4:45pm but at least I can watch on TV instead of following on live stats at work. My house is 20 minutes from my office in Indy and Btown is 1:30 away in traffic that time of day (not to mention I would have to drive twice with no where to stay in Btown if we won) so I think I will head home and watch hope we win and than come down Saturday if we are playing.
  10. http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/052417aaa.html Well looks our game is getting bumped tomorrow as PU and NW just in 6th and its 9pm Eastern.
  11. Something to watch: They are just starting game 3 now so unless it goes fast the Big Ten will either have to start NW/Minn after 11pm which is awful late or move to tomorrow which will move IU's game.
  12. Well we burned Kruger who should of started tomorrow (and will now be stuck with Saalfrank) but we got it. Now no question we make tourney with another top 30 RPI win. If its Minny we have home field and if it's NW we toss a coin I believe (I know the formula pretty well from previous Big Ten Tournaments and Regionals but its so complicated I am not even going to try to explain it).
  13. We have such poor plate discipline at the wrong times.
  14. As I have said countless times we swing for fences way to much. He hit a ton of HR's but also fly out a ton as result and make less solid contact as result. Also as I said baseball gods clearly don't like us this tourney with all the things that have gone against us
  15. Ugh. This game is so back and forth. Tied again. So glad we have home field for this game given how close it is.
  16. Sowers did it! IU leads. Lozer has blown up for 2nd straight game after being perfect all year
  17. Winning run at 3rd 2 outs in 8th after Dedelow single. Shocked he did not fly out deep or hit HR.
  18. Lozer their reliever who had not surrendered a run all year and was perfect till blowing up and being terrible yesterday with game online again gives up a run to us today (although it will be charged Jaskie).
  19. Like I said if that happens than maybe you strongly consider a move on our end it but I think he gets one more year and if he does you also ride Lemonis another year since were were not awful this year and still quite likely to make NCAA tournament (I know people are disagreeing with me but I believe we are in regardless and most pundits besides one IU media interviewed thought we were in even if we lost both games).
  20. Actually I think its the hitting coach that needs replacement. Pitching was excellent last 2 years but has struggled this year with mass losses and is very young. Hitting on the other hand is very experienced and think our approaches at plate are often quite bad and hitters are not developing like they should.
  21. No argument. I am just saying I would not fire Lemonis after this year regardless unless Tracy Smith gets fired from ASU and is available. If things go south next year than you absolutely make a move. I have to also think timing could be perfect because Smith is more likely to be canned with a second bad year next year so timing would be perfect and I think both scenario's are somewhat realistic for a Smith reunion in 2019.
  22. So much for the momentum.
  23. Dedelow gives and Dedlow takes away by swinging for fences every time. This time he gives. Also NCAA sees these games as 'neutral site' and not home games so we would be credited with 2 neutral site losses not 2 home losses in committees eyes. SOS depends on how you look at it. Non conference SOS is 11 which is huge since that shows them we scheduled really tough and only conference teams brought us down to 30 which is helpful. I think we are in either way given we got in with worse RPI and 2 less conference wins in 2015 but you certainly never know.
  24. Its disappointing but we were 6th but we were also 2 games from winning Big Ten which is bunched really tightly so it is not like we were horrible. I still think we are comfortably in NCAA's given we made it with an RPI of 35 and an SOS of 22 in 2015 while this year is 30 and 11. Certainly not everything is rosy (and we need to keep a critical eye on Lemonis as this could go badly as we get further from Smith era) and I have been very critical at times but if we are getting in tourney each year and competing in conference (yes I know 6th is mid pack but we were just as close to top so certainly are competing with top teams) that should be satisfying enough given our history.
