Most of my comrades don't post on forum sites, but I can definitely tell you that they are not happy with our coaching situation. Most IU related pages on Facebook seem to support the same theory. Maybe we should put together a gofundme page to raise cash for a full page add in the Bloomington and Indy papers with a great factual stat-filled lettet as to why Crean should be gone. Get real sappy with Hoosier sentiment on how the program means so much to so many etc..etc! Make it impossible for the administration, coach and supporters not to be informed of what the fanbase wants. No, its time to go in another direction. With no top flight recruits coming in next season and the depature of possibly 3 players, hand the mantle to someone else. Home run hire is subject to one's opinion. Every poster here has their choices. I truly disagree that FG is willing to make a decision not in the interest of his school and his legacy. Remember, he did not hire CTC but gave him an ample period to see if he could get the job done. I think we need to be patient and see what he and whomever are willing to do and then and only then, judge the results. I do believe that Crean is gone however. I think Fred knows a move has to ne made now. Not only from the standpoint of the fans but Glass himself. There are probably 10 coaches that I believe could come in and do a great job. Some named and a few under our radar. We may not get your so called 'HR' but be damned sure it will be someone who will give us a better opportunity than what we have now. It's all a crapshoot no matter who we hire. Let's just hope that we have paid our penance and the bball Gods shine down on our great university once again. The Louisville tv market carrys well up into Indiana. I think it reaches just north of Seymour and west to Dubose Co. Plus, about 35% of employees in the Louisville metro are Hoosiers. Once you leave Louisville city limits the UofL fanbase decreases significantly. Most of the state are avid pUKe fans. Its a bball crazed city. Last year UofL wasn't even in the tournament and UK knocked out early (hell yes!) and they still posted the highest tv rating in the US for the tournament. An invite is not guaranteed. We will probably need a win against Iowa for a chance. There are already several regular season conference champs that were beaten in conference tournaments that are assured an automatic spot. We could see an end to the playing season tomorrow. It might be because Louisville is and has been for several years the number one TV market of NCAA Basketball in the country. Ratings are nearly double that of any other market including the whole state of North Carolina. We don't only have high ratings watching the big 3 (IU, UK, and UofL) but all college basketball. Crean knows that the large majority of the fanbase is ready for a change. He has to be hearing it everywhere he turns. Maybe, just maybe he is ready for a change himself. There is high interest out there for him now. Soft landing may be what he is looking for. We know that he is egotistical as most coaches are, but the toll on himself and family could be something that may push him on out the door. We could only hope. Zach used to have a show down here in SoInd. Real nice guy. Wouldn't say that he is connected though. I used to listen to him quite a bit a few yrs ago. Know that he is an IU supporter.
