It's not like we are spending any exorbitant amount of time or recruiting dollars to keep him here in Indiana. And if so, so be it. Romeo could be a game changer for our program. Not necessarily for his play, but the mere fact that we land one of the best that may ever come out of this state. I know we said the same things about CZ. And I also know it depends alot on our coaching staff putting our players and our program consistently in a position to contend for a title. Don't see how in the world that we would ever give up on Romeo to IU! He has done absolutely nothing to indicate that we are out of the race. Too many on here assume that just because Cal is coaching him this summer that he is a pUKe lean. That could work against Cal just as well. Romeo is a smart kid and is not going to say the `wrong' thing to the press about his thoughts of the guy determining his minutes or his college choices until he is ready. Don't know anything, but I get a feeling that it is a two team race for Romeo. I'm sticking with my thought that pUKe is out of it even with Calipari coaching him this summer. We are one of the two. Seven kids under the age of 18yrs basically chided and forced into participating. That's a legality issue. And yes maybe they should be judging morality issues. What would you want done if your son or daughter was put into this situation. I do find it hard to believe Slick Rick had no knowledge of any of it. Schilling has alot of trust and respect among HS coaches who have been around a while in the state. He is a known commodity as a developer and teacher of talent. If the parents of Romeo are true, deep down believers that he is a 1 and done, then, with the uncertainty of CAM's coaching philosophies that may sway them towards another program. You know what you will get with K and Pitino. But, and a big one at that, Romeo's parents value education and he is a great kid with a good head on his shoulders. It's amazing the time he gives to fans both young and old down here. He really is beloved as a young man and not just a player. He seems to be a very gracious kid. I think that even with some of the past situations during the Crean era, we have more of a family core value and student first approach then that of UofL and that resonates with his family and is important to them. Yes, that goes the same for Duke but I do think distance is a factor here. If Archie truly makes him the #1 priority, and stays on top of this, I believe he is ours for the taking. JMO! Most of us folk down here SouIn are sold that pUKe is not going to get him. Alot of talk that the parents are not fans of Calislimy. My thoughts are it's definitely a 3 horse race. Talk here is that we have made up alot of ground and are a legit choice along with Duke and Hooker U. Don't see UK in the mix with Romeo. Parents not enamored with Calipari. I see it being Duke, UofL and us. Will be interested in seeing everything play out at UofL. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this will be Pitino's last year. I see him coming back after his (soon to be) suspension and then hanging it up. Don't be surprised if Billy Donovan is not the next head coach there. I think Slick Rick was in his ear and that may be why we didn't land him. So I see us with a decent chance at Langford.
