2018 General Recruiting Thread
MoyeNeeded replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It will take alot of luck our way to pull in Langford, but I wouldn't be down on Archie or judge him negatively if we don't! Hard to come in new and shut the door on the likes of UofL, Uk, Duke and KU. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -

IDK you tell me? They play in the best arena in CBB. HOF Coach. Just 6 miles to his front door step. One of the absolute best all- around athletic programs in the country. Can't find a reason. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -

The only reason that you are hearing alot of UofL talk is because no one `absolutely no one' has ever given us half a chance at him. Don't care about no damn CB pick from a homer beat writer. Everyone is getting their panties in a wad about info posted on their forums. Funny about CB picks...just looked at Jerome Hunter's last night. All OSU and Michigan. Just one for IU! This was 8hrs before his commitment. Until Romeo officially announces UofL, I say he is ours to get! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -

The offer is still there and if he wants it he should take it. If things close down, his fault for not jumping. I have no problem offering Henry. Back up plans are there in case you don't get your primary target. If I'm correct, Thompson and Anderson were our primary targets! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -

Totally agree with that. But sure would be nice to see two. I think Brooks is a solid. You can't turn down one of the others! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -

I think that Minny needs to show that they are still moving fwd in the program and Archie needs to show that he can come in and get some excitement in this program with results. People outside of the state don't have high expectations for next season, but I don't think they realize the young talent/veteran mix that with some good coaching could be a real good product. Picking up Thompson out of their own backyard shouldn't hurt. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
MoyeNeeded replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I believe that you will see thst they ate slong with a few recruiting pieces that we pick up. I like that Thompson is red shirting next season to get that yr of bulking up and practice experience against college players. I think that is a great move by the staff and helps to show the Langfords that we want to make sure that that we are going to do whatever it takes to put our program on a track to be successful. (2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Screw Kenny Johnson! Ed Schilling is going to take care of this for Archie. He doesn't have to knock on doors in our state...he has the keys! He has the ear and respect of Shannon and if Coach Shannon believes that IU is the right choice for Romeo, then if asked he would surely let the Langfords know his opinions. Mutual repect between the two parties. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
MoyeNeeded replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Nothing new in this report! This is the same reports and pieces rehashed by someone taking his info from all of the previous stories. It makes sense that a decision could be made by the start of his senior season just to put it to bed so he can concentrate on trying to win another state championship. New Albany will once again be one of the favorites and Romeo would love nothing more than cementing his name as one of the all time Indiana HS greats. But, he is perfectly happy with his father handling all of the recruiting business while he does what he loves and that is practicing with his teammates and winning games. So, I don't think that it would effect him one bit to hold out until spring for a decision. I think that would loom better for us, giving Archie more time to get in his favor. Contrary to the pundits outside the state of Indiana, IU is the main player here. I believe his parents would favor this. The education, family, and culture. (2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
MoyeNeeded replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Don't think Garland to Duke unless they don't land Tre Jones. Can't see them both there. I'll tell you what though, we land Romeo and there is no reason why we couldn't have our own little super team. Add Garland (wants to play with Langford) and pull off a Moses Brown get...all bets off! Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -

I've been sticking by us since the get-go! Just a feeling. Not in the know, but live in the same subdivision as the Langfords. Got that IU flag flying proud every day. From all accounts, the parents weren't enamoured with Cal either. That was before the U19 deal. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app -

Heard this morning on 680 am Louisville basically the same thing about Romeo cooling on pUKe. Alot of talk that Romeo could've played more in Egypt. Langford stayed classy and attributed lack of playing time to his back problems. 4 crystal ball picks switched this morning to Louisville. We need to keep the press on! 2018 Recruiting Class
MoyeNeeded replied to HoosierAloha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Agreed. But when it is the BEST player in your state, and one of the BEST in the the country...there should be no reprioritizing, period! It's not like we are spending any exorbitant amount of time or recruiting dollars to keep him here in Indiana. And if so, so be it. Romeo could be a game changer for our program. Not necessarily for his play, but the mere fact that we land one of the best that may ever come out of this state. I know we said the same things about CZ. And I also know it depends alot on our coaching staff putting our players and our program consistently in a position to contend for a title. Langford could be the 1st domino to fall and help bring on the mindset that will get CAM the players needed to put us in that position. Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app
