When he played big minutes we won. He hit two game winning buckets. When teams tried to iso him and go after him on defense he held up and made big plays. Game winning plays. He won in high school. It won’t fit some people’s narratives that like to look at individual stats, but the bottom line is he is a winner. Some people are and some people are not. Leal is.

I think I can speak for the sandwich person on here, who I agree with, when I say this….. If we are playing to win games - Leal needs to play.

Not even close. He has size and can shoot the ball. Also a really good athlete.

I don’t think they are getting a Hurley, Stevens, Donovan, etc. More likely is someone like Beard or Wade. I don’t like Coach Cal one bit, and UK fans wanted him gone, but they should be careful what they wish for in my opinion.

That’s true, but I think Franklin could have been had but chose to get out. Good for him in hindsight.

It’s hard for me to get excited with CMW coming back. My top three are Hickman, Conwell, and Humrichous but at the end of the day it’s still the same staff. The same staff that didn’t really know what they had in Miller Kopp. Or guys that went elsewhere and fared better like Franklin at UVA or Bates at Georgia. Don’t get me wrong, those three I like plus others being talked about are really good players but I think we need bigger fish just because of the ineptitude of this staff. I think we would need someone like a Caleb Love or a Hunter Dickinson. I don’t know if guys like that are in the portal. Bronny isn’t coming here. I don’t know why any quality wing would look at us over other schools if they are looking at our offense and want to win and develop. I hope CMW and company didn’t really think bags of cash would guarantee anything.

1) I can’t see happening. 2) Perkins doesn’t fit with Gallo. (and no Gallo shouldn’t be coming off the bench nor will he as a 5th year senior for Mike Woodson). Gallo needs to play the point. Connor Hickman is at the top of my wish list.

I said I give him credit for getting better after being atrocious on defense and hope that he continues to improve. I have my doubts but we will see. I think calling him ok on defense is being generous.

I hope you’re right. I’m not as high on him as everyone else. I expect he will score a ton of points but he still has to get a lot better on the other end for us to do anything. To his credit, he did get better at the end of the season but he was atrocious for most of the year. He has to at least get to the point where we are not taking him out or even thinking about taking him out late in games. I still think he plays so stiff I could take him.

What? Gallo needs to be starting at PG. We need shooters. Then we need more shooters.

I don’t know if they get there. This NC State team is just different.

I’m so proud of these ladies and the way they represent Indiana basketball. This one is going to hurt awhile - that game was there to be won, but they showed a lot of heart, love, and fight. They should all be proud.
