I think Marshall is a pretty good team and seem to be well coached but how are they not doing anything different on TJD lol? I mean I will take it but I’m sure TJD is loving the way he is being played. No double. No help from the guards. Back to Marshall with the loss as TJD goes for a 50 piece.

The defense we got from the bench was awful that half. Woodson pulled a couple guys almost immediately and the starters responded. Problem is we have to go back to them and Rob and Trey are good defense pieces.

I will say the kid from Marshall does look like an elite athlete and we don’t have anyone on defense that can match up right now. Team defense has to be much better this half.

Rob hasn’t played well but he can still play defense. Lander is much improved but he isn’t there yet. Their guards were getting everything they wanted when he was in the game.

They are all getting beat. I didn’t notice Bates getting beat all that much. I did notice Jordan getting beat and looking all kinds of lost which is why he got yanked immediately. Hurry up Trey.

The bench outside Bates (Lander and Jordan) has to be better in 2nd half. They had been playing really well but both were not good that half. We really miss Rob and Trey in that spot.

I don’t like to complain about officiating but they have been trash.

Bates has no fear. Love his game.

I think Jordan G just got an earful lol.

Kopp and Stewart have to rebound. Both play good defense but neither rebounds. That has to change fast.

If they don’t double TJD he is going to go for 40.

I like Leal but he is playing right now due to injuries and this stretch of bad opponents we are facing in the Hoosier Classic. I don’t see him getting many (if any) minutes going forward. Woodson values defense and he just doesn’t have the lateral quickness on defense needed as the competition picks up.

It was good to see a lot of guys get a lot of minutes again tonight. I like our rotation when Rob and Trey get back. It’s going to be hard to find minutes for everyone but that’s a good problem to have. Durr is going to help us. He has a limited offensive game but he takes up space and is a defensive presence and a good passer. Plus he hits his free throws. Lander has played his way into playing time and is improved. Bates is just Special. I like Leal. He plays hard and has a nice shot. He just isn’t going to play against better competition. Unfortunately he just doesn’t have the lateral quickness on the defensive end.

I was part of the student section for the game but not on campus for tonight. The chants are or should be a non issue. It was all in good fun. Their was nothing that crossed lines that shouldn’t be crossed.

I don’t know the answer to the question in this thread and I’m so much more of a hoops fan that I don’t even know if I’m qualified whatsoever. From a student perspective and from just what I hear from other students I will say this. Last year might as well never happened. Students are not ignorant. We hear a lot of voices complain about students not going into the stadium. We hear other voices complain that students check out early in the first half and need to stay the whole game. So what did we do? We showed up. We were loud for the UC game. We stayed. We lost. We were told this year was going to be different. Some said we were a football school now. We were told a lot of things but any momentum we had from last year is lost and I don’t know if that’s something that we can ever get back. LEO is cute. CTA is Tom Crean 2.0 with less results. He cares. He wants to be here. He has great passion. That’s great and all but it’s not winning games. Their appears to be zero accountability but we will always LEO. The general consensus is this. He had his shot this year. It was all right there for him and this program. That’s all gone now. It’s not coming back. It turns out our QB is not so Superman. Our self appointed superstar WR did a lot of talking during the off-season about being the GOAT. LOLX10. He is still out there though getting abused by defenses every week. Me personally, I have went to every tailgate this season until today. It was a little cold and it looked like rain/snow and I have had the sniffles and was at the basketball game last night and had some school work to catch up on. We had the game on and just a small group over watching. I didn’t really watch but a couple guys that were over were just really upset saying that we quit. But CTA and LEO will be there tomorrow and nothing will change. The students will continue to get criticized from the same voices for just going to party and not staying the whole game. It was all right there for them and it’s not coming back.

I think their is generally a lot of excitement among the students. It’s definitely a feel of a new beginning for us and we want to be a part of that. I think the student section has shown up and been loud the first couple games and that will build as the opponents are tougher and bigger names come to the Hall. I mean the football season has played some into this. I don’t know if it would matter where the basketball program is after this football season students just want something different. I could definitely give you some student insight regarding football lol. As far as the general public and filling up the Hall (balconies) I think their are still a lot of COVID concerns. It doesn’t matter what side of it your on their are those uncomfortable being in a packed venue and others having issue with having to wear a mask and just everything that goes along with COVID. Again though as the opponents become bigger name schools I have little doubt the Hall will once again be full capacity.

All the lower levels were full pretty much. The balcony was scattered. I’m a student and I think we were pretty loud.

So I was at the game and wanted to join the fun after such a great game with just a few observations I had. We looked really good overall. I was anxious to see how we responded after the 2nd half of the previous game but it seemed obvious they got the message from the coaching staff. A great win against a team that should not be awful. I really like our starting 5. I have seen some chatter on here about Parker and Miller but their shots are pure and water will find it’s level with those two. I have zero concerns about either of them. They both offer a lot in a lot of different areas and I think this is our starting unit the entire season barring injury. As far as the rest of the rotation goes I know have been a large Trey supporter on here and I don’t really think their are any questions after this game. This kid gets it. His shot has improved greatly (it’s obvious he has put in the time working on it) and besides what else he brings he really understands spacing and the ball just seems to move better with him on the floor. We just look a lot more sharper as a team with more energy when he is in the game and it’s really noticeable live. He should be getting major minutes and first off the bench along with Rob P. Bates is going to be phenomenal sooner rather than later so not really much else to say about this kid lol. It was so good to see Durr play. He is going to be a big help in the BIG. He played well considering he has been injured. That’s already 9 deep and I know Coach has said a couple times he wants a 9 maybe 10 deep rotation so this is a good problem to have. Jordan G is going to play. They all obviously offer something different but watching them live for a couple games I’m a lot higher on Trey and Bates than Jordan G. Their is only so many minutes to go around and to me I want as much Trey and Bates as possible. It was also really good to see Lander and Leal get some run. I think Lander is going to play some if X or Rob is in foul trouble or injured or something along those lines. He does look improved and I hope he can keep his head right because I don’t think he will get much playing time THIS season. I like Leal and I’m almost a little sad that he is our end of bench guy who will probably not see the court this year except for games like this. It was good to see him make some shots but he still can’t really defend at this level which is fairly obvious.
