I hope he improves because it will makes us stronger. As a student I have been to most of the home games and I know several on here go to games as well. He gets lost a lot on defense. To the point you can here the moans from the crowd when he is out of position. I don’t know how it translates to television or whatever but live it’s really noticeable. He is also just plain awful at the free throw line and their really is no excuse for being that bad. At most right now he should be used for a 3-5 minute run in the first half to give the starters a quick breather and that’s it. Anthony Leal is deserving of more minutes. Minutes have to be earned.

Well Woody has repeatedly said he would like to have a 9 deep rotation. I’m all for depth. Quality depth. Unfortunately the biggest piece off the bench is injured. Without Trey the 9 deep that give us the best chance does not include KL or JG. Bates and Phin are going to get a lot of minutes. Durr is going to get spot minutes. Leal’s play has shown that he is deserving of more minutes. I hope we can stay out of foul trouble and we see a lot of the starters along with Bates, RP, and Leal along with Durr getting some run in the first half.

I have a feeling Nebraska will scare Michigan if not beat them.

I would like to see us shorten the rotation a little bit. Leal has earned some minutes with his play. A lot of Bates. Phin at the backup point guard. Durr a couple minutes in the first half to give TJD a quick breather. KL on standby in case of foul trouble. Jordan - DNP

1. Player development/Player attitudes. 2. Injuries/Foul trouble.

1-0 in the BIG. After the slow start we did some really good things. Excited for Wisco next week.

IU 76 Nebraska 64

I’m more inclined to look beyond the numbers at what my eyes tell me. When Rob is in the game his defense makes it more difficult for the opponent to get what they want more so than KL. I have also saw KL miss TJD more than once and that just can’t happen. I don’t know what he was doing at the end of OT but he completely muffed that up. I like KL and he is much improved but he isn’t there yet. Rob offers more value right now. Woody has made it clear RP is the backup and based on what I have seen I would agree 100%. I want to win now. Players and coaches want to win now. I think this team can be pretty good and has a chance to do some really good things this year. I don’t think a loss at Syracuse in November changes that. KL is learning and he will get some sporadic minutes here and there but most of his development will have to come at practice. Right now for this team RP > KL.

I would love to see more Leal. He has some limitations with defense on the perimeter but let’s see what he can do with the minutes. I hope him getting minutes means that we see less of Jordan. He has had his opportunity and has been awful the last several games. I have never seen what a lot of others on here see with him.

I should start by saying that I don’t really look into stats all that much. Rob P is an important piece to this team. When he was in the game we were getting anything we wanted on offense. He was finding Race and Trayce with ease on the back side of the zone. KL missed TJD a couple times and in other games too. Rob was also making their guards look really uncomfortable and making it harder for them to get into their sets. He did have some bad fouls that he has to clean up. Look, Rob is never going to have great stats on offense but he is valuable. I really like KL and I’m excited about his future. But with X and Rob I don’t see him getting minutes going forward unless we have another game where he is needed due to injury or foul trouble. Rob gives us the best chance to win this year not KL. I’m 100% with Woody on giving Rob the minutes he is getting.

I disagree. I want Lander to get some minutes but when Rob was in he was getting the ball to Race and TJD where they could immediately do something with it. He had a couple bad fouls and got beat once but I thought his defense was pretty good and he made their guards look uncomfortable. I like Lander. He hit a big 3 but also got beat and had some turnovers. I also thought he missed TJD a couple times when Rob was finding him.

Turnovers. We shouldn’t have even been in this game. I’m proud of the team for the effort and the fight. Going forward if we have to go to the bench for depth and stealing some guys some minutes with Trey out I would like to see Leal. Jordan G has been awful in the past couple games. So bad that I don’t know how you can keep putting him out there. Leal can hit shots. He will get beat on defense at times because he doesn’t have the lateral quickness to stay in front of his man but he knows how to play and will take care of the ball and will be in the right spots so I can live with him getting beat a couple times. Jordan can’t even catch the ball right now and is always out of position on defense.

We got the answer to that and found out for at least one night. This team is different this year. Marshall is a good team and at about the 8 min mark they started doubling TJD and helped off with their guards. XJ made a ton of plays and Parker and Bates hit from deep. We will see if that can continue for a full game but very encouraged after this game.

He wasn’t as good tonight as he has been but is much improved from last year. I thought Jordan was much worse. He needs to play much better if he wants to continue getting minutes. I’m not as high on him as most. I just don’t see it.

For those of us that don’t know is this who Durr has been or has his injury robbed him of all of his athleticism?

Well yeah. I meant outside of Race/TJD and our wings. If they were to get into foul trouble or something we lack depth up front is my biggest concern going forward.

Marshall is a good team. We are missing a couple big pieces off the bench and that 1st half the bench let us down outside Bates. I think Woodson got into them and they responded. I’m more concerned about our lack of frontcourt depth is my biggest concern.

Good win against a quality team. We can improve and get better but I like this team.

Parker Stewart. We needed it.

We need to make a couple perimeter shots now.

They have finally made the adjustment on TJD lol. Can our perimeter guys make them pay.

It’s just a different strategy. Almost all coaches don’t let the alpha beat you.

Lander looking better so far this half. I wonder if Woodson goes back to Jordan or sends a message.
