I don’t know if that’s the exact lineup I want to see but the idea I like 100%. We are wasting too many offensive possessions playing TJD and Race together because one often gets caught on the perimeter. I know CMW wants to allow players to showcase their talents or whatever but Race and TJD have no business trying to make plays on the perimeter or taking outside jumpers. It’s also hurting us on the defensive end. Race has been caught a lot guarding guys on the perimeter and the results have not been good.

Bates needs to play more but he has missed a little time with those personal matters. I think his time is coming but not at point guard. I’m probably the biggest Galloway fan on here but I don’t want to see what some of these BIG10 guards would do to Bates or Galloway if they are playing point.

X is our PG1 until he runs out of eligibility. That’s one change I don’t see CMW making.

Bates has been struggling a little bit. Besides not making shots his defense has not been there at times. I’m not worried about him at all though. It’s obvious he is a player. In fact, he is the guy I would like to see not only in the game but run something for him to take the last shot. That’s how much I think of Bates (more importantly I think he thinks that of himself). I think him being out of practices due to the personal reasons is showing up a bit right now but no long term worries. Please no more force feeding TJD at end of game situations. While I’m at it TJD has absolutely got to rebound much better. That’s a big concern to me. I do strongly disagree about KL. I’m with CMW regarding his role right now 100%.

I would like to see some offensive changes more than lineup changes. If we are not going to run an offense that gets Parker more looks then he has no value. He has one great skill but it’s not showing up right now. He has a skill all teams covet but it’s not being used. If that doesn’t change then he might as well not be playing.

Phin has been playing really well as of late. If anything he is deserving of more minutes.

It goes a lot farther than defense. KL often doesn’t get the ball where it’s supposed to go for whatever reason. I mean you can’t really not feed your All American and and expect to get minutes. Rob’s shooting leaves a lot to be desired but besides the good defense he plays he gets the ball where it is supposed to go and helps out on the boards.

Idk. I still remember Taylor making a lot of plays I think. He is still our starting corner so it still seems like a big loss to me. Plus, I don’t often agree with Hova so when I do he is usually right :) -

(2020) SG Trey Galloway To IU
IU - Kaulie replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
His shot has improved. His form is different than last year and you can tell he has spent a lot of time working on it with the help of the new coaching staff. It’s a lot more fluid and less mechanical. It’s one of the first things I noticed in pregame warmups. It’s obvious that he has put in a lot of time working on it so kudos to him for putting in the work. -
(2020) SG Trey Galloway To IU
IU - Kaulie replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Pre-injury Trey was first off the bench and looked like CMW was going to play him 20 or more minutes per game. He is not going to resume those kind of minutes immediately after his return but he is going to play and get minutes. He has improved his shot but that’s not where his value is. He brings so much to the table. I’m really excited he is doing well and is getting closer to a return. I agree with Anthony Leal and I think he has actually earned more minutes. They have different games and bring different things so I hope they both are getting significant minutes. -

TG is the biggest piece off the bench. I’m a fan of all our student athletes. I may not be as high on him as others but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to see him do well. I would love to see a repeat performance but based on what we have seen I’m not expecting that. -

I would pump the breaks a little bit on JG. He did this against a team new to D1 that plays a defense that makes it easier to stand out. He usually shows out in this type of game. The game is too fast for him on both ends against better competition. I’m not expecting him to get the kind of minutes he got today going forward. TB was quiet today but he’s a player. RP played well and he just needs a shot to go down. The point guard situation has been settled. Leal missed on some today but he should continue to get minutes. The biggest piece off the bench remains injured. -

We must be watching a different game. X has had a really good half and Phin has been good overall. -

I don’t understand all the Rob Phinisee hate on here. Has he met outside expectations coming out of high school? Probably not. However, he has been through a lot and I admire his toughness for starters. He seems to be a good teammate that plays hard and is well liked. On the the court he provides good defense and knows where the ball is supposed to go. He is also not afraid to fight for rebounds for a 6’0” point guard. His offense is limited and his shooting numbers are not good but he does bring value in other ways. I like me some Rob Phinisee. We have seen two different coaching staff’s get a good look at K. Lander. Some people are wanting to see him get 10-20 minutes per game. I mean he is our #3 point guard and doesn’t bring the value so I think him not getting minutes is right where he should be. He has two upper classmates ahead of him who bring more. He doesn’t defend like Rob does and he doesn’t get the ball to the right spots like Rob does. I have seen a couple times where he has just completely missed TJD around the rim. I mean you can’t miss your All American for buckets like that. Nope, can’t happen. Not to mention the end of the Cuse game. I like KL and I hope he continues to work and getter better. Some are worried he will enter the portal. I hope that’s not the case but if it is we will move on. Trey would have helped in this game. He is our biggest piece off the bench. I strongly disagree about Leal. He provides a spark and he had some really nice games on the road last year as well so I don’t know where that’s coming from. Anthony Leal should be playing more minutes. He can shoot it and has had some really nifty passes that a lot of players can’t make that has led to buckets. He is also holding his own on the defensive end which I was concerned about and is very active on both ends. **I would love to see a lot more Anthony Leal and a lot less Jordan Geronimo.

I think this is 100% accurate.

I was begging to see a tighter rotation in another thread. Their is no reason I can come up with.
