We will just have to disagree here. Basketball is a team sport. Win or lose. CMW said if the players don’t follow the rules they won’t play. It’s quite simple. He didn’t want to suspend the players but they knew the ramifications for not following team rules. Even if it does cost our team a tournament berth (those players doesn’t guarantee a win; next man up) I think he is sending the right message.

Yep. Ball movement and pace of play are so much better without Kopp and Stewart. CMW has to know it that’s why that group finishes games but that group needs to start games and play more together too. Throw in Bates as well because the ball moves and the pace is better with him in as well. The minutes Kopp and Stewart are getting need reduced drastically.

I disagree. A team rule set by the HC has to have consequences if it is broken. What message does that send otherwise? If it cost us a win and a tournament invite so be it. CMW had to change the culture of this program. He is trying to develop and teach his players on and off the court. We can’t be sure the benching changes the outcome anyway.

I would rather go with the LCS lineup. Parker just kills us in all other areas of the game. I’m not his biggest fan obviously. I was at the game he got suspended for in the first half and he came out in the 2nd half and hit a quick 3 but then he would literally just jog to the same spot on the same wing and just stand there. I couldn’t believe it. I thought losing his starter status would have lit a fire but it was the exact opposite. It looked like he didn’t even want to be out there playing.

It was the right basketball play to take the shot. He missed.

He is a much better defender than Stewart. It’s not even close.

Parker is not one of our 8 best players but he has one skill we desperately need. I honestly don’t know what you do with him. Play him. Not play him. I’m more on the not play him side. Getting suspended (twice) and jogging to the same spot on the wing and just standing there is not endearing himself to this fan base. Does he like playing basketball? I can’t figure out how he scored that much at his previous school.

I strongly agree and CMW has said it’s a guards game especially at the point. He’s getting those kids recruited and going after them. JHS like you said is a stud. Everything I have seen on here screams that Cupps will be a special player for us. I don’t know where we stand with Little but no doubt CMW knows what he needs and is going after them.

Yes Race is getting old as a college player but I would welcome him back if he chooses. Same with Rob.

As a player I think Gallo is just scratching the surface. Chase is what a senior playing big minutes. He’s a fine player but a finished product. Without looking it up I doubt his shooting is all that much better. I guess it just depends on how you value Gallo. I see I a kid that knows how to play and that still has a lot of potential to improve if he puts in the work and I believe he will. He is a young player that has just started playing bigger minutes and missed a lot of time with injury. Dang it - I said I was done defending Gallo. That’s the problem. Parker doesn’t move at all. Gallo moves but he isn’t there yet as a shooter. Bates moves but he couldn’t get anything to go down. Leal moves but for whatever reason isn’t playing. We are playing Stew and Kopp like they were promised minutes. Stew acts like he doesn’t even like playing. Kopp can’t or won’t put himself in a position to get open but Gallo/Bates/Leal can. We are giving the wrong wings way too many minutes. Start Gallo and Bates together and give Leal some flipping playing time.

I would take Gallo over any of those six.

This game sucked! I only beat some guy in Alaska or whatever.

Let’s face it. IU is a team you can talk trash to because we will just go stupid in the head. You can’t talk trash or shouldn’t to a team like Wisco, PU, or Illinois but you can do it without fear against IU.

I know that’s the problem. I don’t know if we have anyone that does.

He can do or say whatever he wants until we do something about it.

I’m still surprised Stew got so much run in the 2nd half. I can’t stand Davison but I knew after their altercation or whatever that Stewart’s head was lost and it was going to fire Davison up. I know we desperately need his shooting but you absolutely have to hide him on defense and Wisco is not a good matchup for him. This was not a good game to try to trade his defense for some offense. X was awful and had a bad game. It happens. Anthony Leal needs to play right now. He is much better on defense than Stew and he can get open on offense unlike Kopp who either can’t or won’t. Lander cannot be playing. I know we are short handed. I don’t care. I don’t know who the other guard is for Wisco but he got anything he wanted on offense against him and knew when he was in the game that he was going to take him every time. Bates has to play more. He hardly played in the 2nd half. I know he wasn’t getting his shot to go down in the 1st half but he should still be playing over Kopp or Stew late in the game. Gallo has to continue to work on his shot this summer. He had a couple of really good looks late that didn’t go down. Although he is not the wing that should be getting those shots right now he puts himself in that position and wasn’t afraid to go up and take the shot because it was the right play. They didn’t go down and one wasn’t even close but I like that about him. CMW has to be better. That last play of the game was really bad coming out of timeout and I highly question who he is giving playing time to and his substitution patterns. That out of bounds call he needed to be in the officials face or call some people out to the media or do something. RUN. RUN. RUN. Late in the game we went back to playing post TJD up with his back to the basket and the stand around game. That’s not TJD’s strength. You have to get him in space and facing the basket where he can attack or you have to have him play the high low game with Race. Having them both just stand on each block with their back to the basket and trying to force it in there and playing the stand around game on the perimeter doesn’t work. That is just bad coaching and I’m someone that generally likes CMW. This team has to play with pace.

I understand. I guess after a painful loss I’m not built to throw in the towel when their are games left to be played on the schedule.

It’s one game unless I’m missing something? Disappointing loss sure but I thought we still had games left on the schedule to be played.

I’m not going to blame the refs because we messed that thing up but I don’t understand that out of bounds call. How do you review a non-reviewable play? It’s like the play in football where their is a fumble and a clear recovery but that doesn’t exist in college basketball right? Or am I wrong? It bothers me that elite coaches in college basketball would have made a huge deal about it in real time and they would have been HOT postgame talking to the media about it and would have called out the league for it. I don’t see any of that coming from CMW? He did play for Coach Knight right?
