I’m begging CMW to forget we have a bench this half. Let’s roll with the starters.

Galloway can’t pass that up.

JHS and Galloway are so much better than anything they have at guard. They both need to stay aggressive on offense and not feel like they have to go to TJD every possession and we got this.

It’s hard to throw stats around in such a small sample size. The truth is he has finished. I would bet he is well over 50% for the season but again that’s meaningless. The games I have been to he gifts us a real lift and spark. I don’t see the drop off. His biggest attribute right now is that the ball finds him. He puts himself in position with his motor and how hard he plays. If he were given more minutes I think he could score a lot of ‘junk points’ and that’s fine for right now as a freshman. I’m impressed with him and think he’s a keeper. I’m not saying he should be playing a ton but he should be getting the minutes Geronimo is getting.

We must be watching a different game. He has looked good in every game he has been in. He has proven in games he can shoot and drive and finish. He is pretty good on defense and usually in the right spots. The tape last night shows that. He is always around the action and the ball seems to find him. He competes and plays hard. The reason he isn’t playing more is because he is a freshman that doesn’t have a five star next to his name and CMW rolls with upperclassmen. If their is anyone who is lost on defense and shouldn’t be playing it’s Geronimo. He is always out of position and is a foul and turnover machine. He isn’t playing much and really shouldn’t be playing at all.

I don’t think he is certain to start next year at all.

Banks has been really good in his limited minutes. He came in and immediately contested a couple shots and forced a charge. He has a knack for being around the ball and making plays. He has shown he can shoot and drive to the bucket. He is a better basketball player than Geronimo right now and should be getting minutes. I think the reason he isn’t is because CMW is maybe a little stubborn in how much he value he places on upperclassmen even if they aren’t playing well (see Bates). He deserves minutes based on his play and I hope the second half indicates maybe he will. Gunn had a chance earlier this year and didn’t really impress but Banks has.

Why? As awful as he has been he is still playing a ton of minutes and loves it here. Now why CMW continues to give him a lot of minutes is my question. He has one skill (scoring) and he’s not doing that. He shouldn’t be on the court.

TJD might be coming close to a triple double. Do turnovers count?

Banks has done more in two minutes than Bates/Geronimo have done in I don’t know how long. But he has shown that before so who knows.

I don’t want to see the differential when Bates and Geronimo are in the game. They should be sitting and Banks should be playing. Let’s play six with the starters and Reneau 2nd half.

So we know their will be movement. Probably a lot of movement. But just for fun let’s say IU remains where they are at the top of that #4 seed line. That means they will play closest to home?

Whew! Happy to get the win. The crowd and the students we have been great this year. Some of our guys just look exhausted with all the minutes they are playing like TJD, JHS, and Gallo. We just seem a little slow to loose balls and on the defensive end. I wish we had more quality depth. I was happy to see Banks get a couple minutes. He needs more because I think he can help us. He got beat on a post up and had a nice drive to the basket but didn’t finish. He probably makes that play majority of the time. The ball just seems to find him and he knows how to play. I know CMW values upperclassman but he should be playing in front of Bates and definitely Geronimo in my opinion. Miller freaking Kopp. He takes a lot of crap on here but he has come up huge late in games on the defensive end. If you don’t think so I really don’t know what your looking at. The thing that gives me the most hope going into tournament time is JHS. I think you have to have a lead guard. He will take some bad shots and is a little careless with the ball sometimes but he is absolutely fearless. No moment seems too big for him and he just doesn’t get sped up or panic. We are going to be in a lot of close games come tournament time and he doesn’t feel pressure. He wants the ball and he wants to be ‘the guy’. If the game is on the line and we need a bucket I’m pretty confident with him putting up that shot.

I thought it was CMW right hand man that no one knows what his name is or know what he does. That might have been the first time I have noticed him other than not looking like he’s ready for a nap sitting back in his chair.
